  • too bad the jew had no talent...lucky 4 him pack of art-jews decided to promote his worthless crap

  • My struggle, by a dull repetitive Toff.

  • F. Bacon secondo me è più grande di Freud, il quale rimane comunque uno degli artisti più importanti del XX secolo!

  • too bad all his paintings sucked so badly...what a bunchof morons who have bought his paintings...they will soon be worthless

  • @HaroldsCatsRevenge

All his paintings sucked? Are you blind?

  • rest in peace master

  • RIP...

  • Love this video...the images and song are great!

  • R.O.Lenkiewicz portraits and nudes didn't look like corpses.

  • Robert Lenkiewicz's work was better

  • R.I.P Lucian Freud

  • He was amazing.

    R.I.P Lucian Michael Freud

  • RIP

  • A tremendous loss. RIP

  • I saw an exhibit of Lucien Freud at the Moma. Its pretty disturbing stuff.

  • ^^!

  • I disagree, ikravichk. The portrait of Francis Bacon at the :57 second mark has great soul.

  • I was lucky enough to see one of his exhibitions years ago. He is extremely talented.

  • Very interesting work, I appreciate very much.

    Christian

  • great combination with Radiohead... 5* and placed into my playlist of Lucian Freud, thanks

  • If anyone is in Toronto, the AGO just opened a comparative show of Freud's and Rembrandt's etchings. All the black and white pieces in your video are there, and more. It's a fascinating comparison.

  • What's the name of the painting at 2.07?

    I can't find it anywhere :(

  • Portrait of Frances Costello.

  • We forget that until Mr. Freud had that marvelous show at the Metropolitan Museum about ten years ago, the figure in painting was considered retrograde. He has changed the climate of the art world since then. But alas more changes are needed.

  • if you really appreciated and therefore respected Freud and his painting, why would you include those ridiculous "worth1000" parodies?

  • I really want to see those paintings in person....

  • he is able to really capture the essence of what exactly that person is at that moment its like an emotion snapshot it doesnt only look like the model but also feels like them

  • Lucian, you are a simple millionaire real artist;-and this is wierd...(in this world)

  • fade out - radiohead

  • awesome.

btw, what's the title of the song? hihi. i like it.

    :D

    great

  • Lucian Freud is so great, I saw some of his works you have included in this vid on a Museum in Haag, Holland. I just couldn't stop looking at them. He has a penetrating way to see into his models and it's as if he "nudes" their souls while painting... I can't explain it very well, I'm lost for words! Not to mention I really like Radiohead, I think you did a magnificent video! ^_^ Good luck with your own work!

  • grandissimo artista

  • thanks for posting!

    this artist really see!

  • Freud is not the worst artist around, but certainly is far beneath the wide acclaim he garners. There are too many shortfallings to list. Most of the works are very awkward, and not in a good way. Most lack structure, composition, and 'metier'. Some of the drawings are so bad that they look like 1st year drawing student work. The paint handling is often atrocious and slimy. Mostly, he is famous because of his name.

  • yes, there is people that may be very blind!

    as you are, for instance!!!

  • Shut up.

Your opinion maybe but actually he is one of the greatest artist's in the world.

    And my grandpa........

  • i love this song. I'm doing a study on lucian freud. I can't find that many images of his paintings...i mean ones of good quality. Where did you get yours?

  • He is a great artist. It's about been courageous , the subject matter etc. technique you get (if ) you have the talent through graft ten hours a day! It takes guts to expose a 350lbs woman or a thin dudes block & tackle ! Keep on painting ....

  • I work long hours at the moment and spend my free time doing the comedy sketches on my channel. I wish I had more time! In art school I had all the time in the world to paint, but now, I could probably only find a few hours a week. Also, I paint in oils and I dont think it's a good idea to paint in my one bedroom flat. Maybe it's okay? I worry about the fumes.

  • I spent a huge portion of my life not painting and suddenly it started happening and I found my self putting in 16 hour days and actually getting somewhere. Perhaps it's a mistake to force it too much.

Also I'm sure you've heard of odour free oils and of course there's always acrylics.

  • I admire Freud`s talent but as someone said before is the medium that saves him. Altough I would add that character, the character he puts in his works, is another of his qualities. His drawing may not be "correct" or refined but it`s really original and that`s what counts.

  • I keep thinking that Freud´s paintings would make pretty bad photographs. It is really the medium that saves him. Like his famous grandpa his view of people is so ... clinical. When I see his nudes I feel like I am in a ginecologists office. His art does not go beyond direct observation,- he doesn´t paint people, he paints meat.

If I were to give Freud a nickname, he´d be the ´´doctor´´´or the´´butcher´´.

  • A mind-disturbing video.

I hate this awful music as much as i like the work of Freud. The best watch was with the volume to zero, and tried to forget what I just heared.

  • @bolderiks u are really psychologically disordered you should check it

  • @TheMedee, congratulations with all you can think.

  • For admirers of Lucian Freud i want to report a wonderful italian artist: Giovanni Gasparro (search his name on Google, where you can also read the interview for the web magazine Cannibali)

    Regards

  • Lucien Freud is amazing! Startling portraiture. He has the "cojones" to paint with "muddy" colors! And what a draftsman! he influenced some of my early work. thanks for the video!

  • Yeah he is incredible, I love the intensity of his work. He influenced my drawing style whilst I was getting used to portraits.

I've recently uploaded a tribute to Jenny Saville, who's painting style is very much influenced by Freud.

  • Great job on the music. I love this painter and I love the fact that one of his paintings was just sold for 33 million!

  • Walmart employee portraits.

  • is it brilliant art or walmart employee portraits?

  • Just love these portraits and studies - what a talented artist!

  • my ex-girlfriend at 1:14

  • He is a great painter and the music is perfect.

  • the baby boy i dreamt of exhaled warm pleasing air. his long slim body was charged with vital force. the body surface: blue and red, littered with haematoma. he smiled happily. he let me hold him for a second, he smiled his foreign smile, twisted slightly and went over to the wall. he must have been not older than five months.

  • amazing, brilliant.

    Maddy

  • Brilliant Painter

  • He's my favorite painter of all time!

  • Fantastic, if anything a bit too fast, but the paintings are fabulous and the song fits extremly well.

How come people on YT are so prude??????

  • Excellent show! You got so many great works of his! Thanks for doing this! And radiohead, the perfect finishing touch, Anne

  • Thank's a lot for this video, but could you say me what's this song ?

  • It's 'Street Spirit (Fade Out)', by Radiohead.

  • Thank you, a friend of me is going to be Happy. Sorry for my english langage.

  • Wonderful tribute! I've been educated...thank you.

  • Your style is wonderful

  • My Style? Erm, this is work by Lucian Freud, he's one of the most popular British painters around, he's in his 80's now, and i'm only 17 and draw Manga (which can found in my other video's). None of this stuff is mine.

  • This is a tribute to Lucian Freud...see comment above.

  • this is cool , will check out later :) busy gotta go

  • Damn, i can't believe that a lot of you guys have never once heard of Lucian Freud. He's possibly the greatest british artist still alive today

  • I'd argue that he's not just the greatest British painter alive today, but the best living painter period.

  • A brilliant selection

    fionaskene

  • Hello !! nice video and pics, i wanted to ask you who is Lucian Freud, but you already answered that, but more videos on like this cuz my art culture is very bad, put more videos on like this so my knowledge in art gets better. !!!CHECK ALSO MY VIDEOS AND SUBSCRIBE !!! thanks alot !!! bye :)

  • great song choice! How recent is this guy? His facial pictures were amazin

  • Lucian Freud was born in 1922 (in Berlin), and is still alive today, living as a British citizen. He's seen as one of the leading figures in art, in todays art world, he pretty much revolutionized the way we look at nude and portrait art.

  • cool art work mate, good job, great song choice too.

  • ...It's not my artwork. It's a tribute to Lucian Freud.

  • if i can do these i would be so happy i really liked it

  • Yeah so would I, Lucian's a great talent. (and he's British, like me, YAY!)

  • I really liked, i love to look art!

  • though i gotta admit some of the pics kinda freaked me out (the big dude especially)
