Watch his left hand more carefully ! The hand that you think is empty is not truly empty. Next time you watch, what you should do is every time you see him transfering the stone to his right hand, know that it is still in his left hand, only that you cannot see it. Once you do that and observe carefully, you will see that it all works out exactly as expected. In fact, you will start predicting with 100% accuracy where the stone actually is.
