I am about 99.9 percent the color of the squirrel has nothing to do with the weather(Rain)I'v done lots of hiking in upstate SC and have never seen a white squirrel but I have not seen it all!Good Video,He may be from Brevard but if not I think that if we have them in the Mountains of SC the color would not help them with predators, again Great Footage!
that's not a white squirrel, they only appear to be white after a nice good rain. the rain leaves dews on leaves, the squirrel runs through leaves and the dew washes the squirrel.
First of all, it hadn't been raining. Look at the ground in the video, it is dry. Second, if what you say was true, then in twenty plus years of hunting at least two days a week, I would have seen this again at some point. I haven't. Third, there were at least seven other squirrels in area at the time and they were all normal gray color. And fourth, read the description, there is a town nearby that is heavily populated with them. Fifth, by that rationale, rain would make all animals appear white
i seen squirrels that appear to be white after a rain storm,
i been hunting at Sorna, California for some year now and i seen squirrels that appear to be white.
im not sure if they are really white or they just appear to be white, because squirrels that are shot in the beginning of hunting seasons are dirty with dirt on them.
but after rain storms in the late squirrel seasons appear to be more white.
o wells, next year I'll get some video of "white squirrels."
