Tony first off, I love all of your videos. 2nd, I have lots of experience in automotive refinishing, and Ive been painting consoles for 5 years now as well. I know for a fact that clear out of an aerosol can is not going to hold up well especially on a controller that gets lots of use. Its also not going to shine near as well as urethane auto clear. You need to be using auto paints. Your too good for that.
@jayrod2 Hey man... Trust me... I know what you're saying, but... Most folks don't understand nor need to be messing with 2K clear... You can get good results with rattle can clear but there are definitely some tricks... I cover that stuff in the DVD. Thanks again man...
Tony has made me a few bucks with his tips, I really should buy this DVD so I can repay the favor. Am I right everyone? Either way, its on my list of things to buy.
Everyone loves to ridicule the man... Yes, alot of info is free on the internet, hence why most of us are here in the first place. He takes the time to put together a DVD to answer all of the questions we ask, and then the people asking the questions get butt hurt cause it isnt free... I tell you what. Go spend your own cash and publish a DVD, send it out for free, and then lets see how much your wallet hates you.
@WildcatBirdie Thanks man. I don’t mind the criticism it comes with the turf. I do my best to get through the BS to hear what folks are really saying. I will always produce quality products and the critics help keep me on track.
guys stop chewing him out..he is doing this to help us..and I for one am thankful thank you tony I have been following your Videos for a long time and I think you bend over backwards to help us so Thank you.
@BITCHimFROMakron Ed is awesome.... He shows the Water Drop effect with a $400 dollar spray gun and expensive urethane automotive paint. In this DVD I'll show you how to get the same effect with spray paint and get a professional result.
Why pay for this when you can find the info everywhere online (forums, mycustomxbox, youtube) FOR FREE. And you don't even mask the l.e.d rings on the console
@chocolatethunder246 Yes, you can find bits and pieces of this info on the internet. If you know where to look. A great example of why you need good info is one of the popular sites you mentioned. He's painting XBOX controllers without the proper prep work. It looks good, but it's a recipe for disaster. He's using adhesion promoter or Krylon Fusion on un-prepped plastic. You have to scuff off the protective coating on the plastic or the paint will fail in less than 3 weeks.
@chocolatethunder246 Who can tell what's good info and what's bad advice? That's why I put all the good info I've learned from years of experience in one DVD. The info in the DVD is awesome and proven to work... Or you can get it bit by bit other random places at your own risk... and by the way if you mask the ring it usually looks terrible. If your base coat is not too thick, the ring shines through and looks super slick...
@AirbrushTricks It's not like people post bad info on forum sites and proven websites. And as for the center led light, you can easily remove the plastic piece (found this on a forum Wow!) and then mask and paint. Also you can replace the green led's with blue red or whatever you want so why hide that. But if that's what you like then you're doing a great job.
@chocolatethunder246 Yeah man... I'm with you... I know what you're talkin about. You can actually do the same thing with the IR port. They're just hot molded into the face plate. You can drill out the little connections or cut them off then glue them back. A little beyond the scope of just painting but absolutely an option. TD
