  • Attention: Robert Gibbs! You do not speak for the American people!

  • 9 months later, even after Gen McChrystal got his wish, he does not hesitate to criticize the Commander in Chief so clearly in a magazine article. I wounder what he would have done if some officer who is 5 ranks below him did the same to him! Just to demonstrate who runs our beloved country today and for a while!!!

If you check around the world, you will see that dictators all over the world, are military people who believe they know better than the democratically elected politicians.

  • I'm American akhenaty, fuck off. Your disgusting. Your country doesn't exactly rock every ones world etiher fucker.

  • Americans are just bunch of ignorants ..You guys don't get it ..There is no winning strategy in Afghanistan you guys should just leave the country and give it back to the Afghans so that they can build it...Bush was not able to win the war for 7 years and Now Obama is doing the same garbage as bush...Anyways...who the Hell is General Mc crystal ...another ignorant who thinks that he knows something abt afghanistan but doesn't even know his own country.......Disgusting...

  • I am an Captain in the United States Army. I have served faithfully this country and my people, and I follow and have full faith in my brass' ability, however, what we do is complete what missions we are given. General McCrystal's advise is based on our current mission, if the President gives us ad new mission, we will do exactly that. Do not misrepresent us with your opinions. Debate as you will, but do not use us for sympathetic rhetoric. Thank you.

  • Obama puts his marxist domestic policy ahead of the lives of our brave troops in Afghanistan ... hope the general frags his ass

  • There was no plan for 30,000 additional troops to be added to the force in Afganistan till August of this year produced by Obama's hand picked General....

Now someone explain to Gibbs that we're not dumb enough to accept that this was Bush's fault because he 'left it on his desk' when the guy that wrote it last month for Obama wasn't even IN Afganistan till Obama sent him....

    LOL

Obama's got more important things to do than stopping terrorism anyway! Chicago needs the olympics...LOL

  • Carrie-Anne Moss

  • Quadfunk

Obama is the Commander in Chief now. He's responsible for making THE final military decisions.

  • Obama's is sitting on his thumb when it comes to Afghanistan. The war has clearly gotten out of control in the last 4 months with the Taliban re-taking large regions. July and August were the deadliest months of the entire war. Yet, today, Obama seems to think lobbying for Chicago Olympics in Copenhagen is more important than working on war strategy that he's been putting off for months. His first strategy put forth in March of this year has clearly failed.

  • You would be naive to think the "war" is being controlled by Obama or any other american for that matter. Its out of Obamas hands but americans dont understand that. This war is about Pashtun nationalism on the borders of India and Pakistan. Americas involvement is purely political. Sad but true. Lives will be lost for absolutely nothing. They are not out there for the protection of "freedom". That line is false, stale and insulting.

  • Eric Cantor is a twat. The only ideas he has or words that come out of his mouth are what his corporate masters hand him on an index card.

  • Gibbs hit a home run on this one (finally).

  • Remember when democrats opposed Bush's wars? Oh man, those were the days.

But now that they are Obama's wars, the Dems fall in line and support their president. Exactly the same way republicans stood behind Bush.

Republicans and Democrats are exactly the same. The two faces of the one party system. Obama "changed" nothing. That is, unless you consider sending more troops to fight a pointless unwinnable war "change." hahaha

  • What about all the Democrats who've called for a time line for troop withdrawal from Afghanistan?

I haven't really heard any Republicans oppose the war, just criticism of Obama's holding before committing more troops.

And the difference is that Iraq was the big issue before because Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Now our presence in Iraq is slowly fading and the focus is on Afghanistan.

So your comment doesn't really make any sense; it's just ignorance. I award you no points.

  • "What about all the Democrats who've called for a time line for troop withdrawal from Afghanistan?" I wish them luck, but I doubt they will be in any way successful.

"I haven't really heard any Republicans oppose the war" Texas congressman Ron Paul is one.

"our presence in Iraq is slowly fading" That is a lie. There are over a dozen PERMANENT bases in Iraq, as well as an embassy the size of Vatican state. Americans will be in Iraq indefinitely.

  • Eric Cuntor

  • Gibbs is growing a backbone. He seems much more confident about calling out people & calling a spade, a spade, than he was 6 months ago.

  • New Yorkers want an investigation of 9/11 now.

  • I hope Cantor doesn't get caught cruising the airport mensroom.

  • This war was meant to be sustained not won.

  • dems fighting words!!!

    hELL YEAH GET SOME!!!!

  • Cantor is not a government appointed media attnention seeking whore just trying to make headlines ala Glenn Beck, LEAVE CANTOR ALONE. His genius will outsmart all you godless dems.

  • I can't tell if you're serious or just trolling.

  • No matter whether Congress or the White House has been run by a Republican or Democrat, our government, as a whole, has been handling the economy and our foreign policies in a despicable fashion. I hope Obama has the gall to make things better. Even though outside forces may try to steer him other wise, it is his duty to uphold the constitution and bring this country back to its glory days, when everyone envied the U.S.

For freedom's sake, I hope he will do what he has promised.

  • While much of the healthcare debate was misinformation, the debate over Afghanistan has been completely real. It's a little disheartening to see Obama lying like the GOP.

    I guess politics are politics

  • What always amazes me is that republicans think what they say matters. Especially when it comes to things they have proven to know absolutely nothing about like the economy & foreign policy.

  • Well, Democrats have not done any better. If anything, we can learn from Clinton.....If you leave the market alone, it will balance itself out.... Out of all the things Clinton did as a president, that is the one thing I remember him for: The guy who let the economy do what the economy does :)

  • I'd say considering what the republicans left the democrats-the democrats have done better.

Remember what it was like when Obama took office? We wondered if America was even gonna be in one piece by now.

I think 6 more months of republican rule would have been the nail in our coffin.

Look, they are anti-intellectuals. They need to be kept out of office. Then we can focus on having new parties to compete with dems-but the repubs need to be extinct.

  • Well, I truly believe the country is in worse shape now than it was 6 months ago, but that does not relieve the republicans of what they did. Personally, I don't think the democrats are any better. At least not these new supe Dems that spend like crazy. Clinton loved to save..... What happened to Democrats being socially liberal but fiscally conservative?

  • Dude, look-the republicans left dems with only the tip of the iceberg....

I mean, if you were following the news at all a year ago-it was pretty obvious that it was only the beginning back then, especially in terms of job loss and stuff like that. It was obvious all that stuff was going to get a lot worse.

And thats why the dems had to spend. It's not like they are just a bunch of idiots who don't think about saving money-they didn't have a choice.

  • I don't disagree that some spending was necessary, but the things they were spending it on would have never and did not help at all. We aren't in any better shape now. We are much worse because of it. Spending money to build Hotels and revamp yacht clubs.... that is a terrible waste of money in a time when people really need it.

  • zndprohet- I agree with you, Obama needs to set up special camps for republicans and any that resist his commands. Specially trianed ACORN and Black Panther members can be used to round them us

  • oh yeah we were so free under Reagan ,Bush, Clinton, Bush

  • cantor's a bigger piece of garbage than limbaugh. i get sick of seeing his skeletal face in the back ground of every washed up republican photo-op. worst is the never ending stupid look he has on his face, like he's out of preparation-h

  • This is refreshing, a WH Press Secretary who actually directly answers a question. Unlike the previous admin., especially Dana "Queen of Spin" Perino.

  • lol

  • Yea cantor blows. He needs to get hit over the head with a lead pipe and re-educated.

  • cantor's a first class jackass
