  • "This controls sexual impulses" *jizzface*

  • If that's 64 bits, then I'm Pamela Andersen wearing a bikini thong in the Vatican.

  • The entire "bit" thing was nothing more than a marketing trick. The bits of some specific processor in a system doesn't say jack about the system's overall capabilities. Lynx wasn't more powerful than Game Gear because Atari said it's 16 bits compared to 8, and Jaguar's "64 bit" campaign was outerageous and laughable.

Get over it people, the Jaguar was not a 64 bit system and it doesn't even matter. What matters is that it had one of the worst (if not THE worst) game libraries in history.

  • So many bits!

  • And the Intellivision was a 16bit system. Bits aren't what matter.

  • KNOCK IT OFF!!! lol

  • Why would I buy a 32-bit system when the Jaguar is 64-bit..... oh yeah cause the 32-bit 3DO has some great games while the 64-bit Jaguar has maybe 5 good games.

  • @Nstudios007

The DS uses two 32-bit CPU's.

  • No, wait, wait, that was the part of the brain that controls mental retardation. Let's try it one more time.

  • Because Jaguar blows.

  • when they say bits it means megabytes and by now standards video games have 256

  • The Jaguar was introduced in November 1993 at a price of $249.99. Even cheaper than the PS1. And nobody wanted it. Poor poor Atai. : (

  • 64 bit my ass

  • @WiseMan369 I was about to say something stupid like that.

  • @bcmedj the Wii is 128 bits, its an upgrade gameqube version.

  • @Spacefrisian The Wii has a 256 bit processor, abeit a very weak one with no HD, but it is 256 bits.

  • @ReesesChannel

The Wii's CPU is 32-bit. "Broadway" PowerPC based architecture. It really doesn't have anything to do with HD.

  • Why would I want a good game system when I can buy a shit game system? It's dirt cheap so it's got to be good.

  • Even the 3DO was more powerful than the Atari Jaguar. The pack in game for the 3DO, Crash N' Burn looked better than anything ever released for the Jaguar.

  • I remember after seeing this commercial I was actually feeling a bit sorry for Atari. This commercial was absolutely pathetic.

  • I've heard this is one of those systems with more-than-normal amount of crap but some gems to be found with a little searching.

  • Bits are useless if game companies don't no how to program for shit on them. Sony can make a 32 bit game look better than say ID software trying to push the envelope and make a 64 bit game. The jaguars games looked like developers worked to hard to try and produce a better looking game and it back fired.

Spyro legend of the dragon for example was a great looking 32 bit game for the ps1. this game looked better than the 64 bit version of doom.

  • Eminem?

  • @gtabro1337 lol eminen worked for atari

  • This part of the brain is dead, making the atari jaguar a damn fine deal. Why buy a good system when you can blow your money on this abomination of a game system?

  • Was that pitfall i saw in those game clips??? I had no idea pitfall was on jaguar... O_o

  • I believe that the CEO of Atari admitted that the PS1 was more powerful than the Jaguar. That's a fail.

  • so ps2 is 128bit and ps3 256bit?

  • @NESHero its 360 bits

  • @NESHero PS3 is also 128bit but it has more core processors which gives it more power. We don't count bits anymore.

  • @pacman80301 then what do we count now since bits are/where the over all sound and visual effects the console can emit with the right hardware

  • great commercial, sucky console

  • @MrJerry10000 It has 2 32 bit graphics cards. So its sorta 64 bit.

  • Well I'll tell you one thing. At least Atari priced the Jaguar right. $149 for a console at launch is a pretty good deal.

...Too bad Jaguar wasn't worth buying.

  • i wonder this is 64-bit then why isn't powerful than playstation i mean look their games even sega saturn is more greater than this or maybe SNES

  • @rkhussain it was techinicly 64 bits but the games were unable to reach a good enough performane which is why it failed

  • @JohnDoe2089 thanks for telling me i got it now because i noticed in some 3D games the effects are 2D

  • "Why would I buy a 32-bit system for $300 when I can get a 64-bit Jaguar system for $149?"

"64-bits of intense, awesome power" Alien vs. predator will make you shit in your pants. Wolfenstein is going to blow your mind and Doom will make you cry for mommy.

Buy a 64-bit Jaguar? Hell yeah!

Atari say "Do the math." I say "Buy 2 and be super awesome!"

  • My brother and I almost chose this over Playstation way back when. I'm so glad we reconsidered.

  • didn't anyone question why the price difference was so big? that be like being able to buy a 10000$ car at half the price or pay 5000$ to look in the mystery box

  • nes has ben awesome until xbox

  • I better get one 2nd hand as they seem to be getting rarer (or those buying them are keeping them).

  • Wow, he has very poor rational thought.

  • "Why would I buy a 32-bit system for $300 when I can get a 64-bit Jaguar system for $149?"

Because "64-bits of intense, awesome power" does you absolutely no good if there aren't any games that lives up to the hype of the system.

You can have the most powerful gaming system ever, but it's good as a doorstop if the games aren't any good.

Buy a 64-bit Jaguar? You may as well just throw your money away.

Atari say "Do the math." I say "math is boring."

  • @Watcher3223 There is one, solitary game on Jaguar that actually makes it look like a 64-bit system. It is called: Phase Zero. And it was released, incomplete, long after the system was discontinued.

  • @RABBIDGamfan

Pity. If only the Jaguar had more games with the kind of effort that "Phase Zero" had.

  • hmmm i have a 32 bit computer capable of rendering amazing 3d reality like fallout 3 on the highest settings you have a 64 bit gaming consol capable of having a controller that can double as a calculator or possibly a home phone. Who wins? lol

  • Yeh, and because it has better games than those broken 64 bit.

  • Why would I buy a 32-Bit system for $300?Because it has moar games.

  • I saw this in the mid 90s and it kicked ass!! Hilarious!

  • Atari Jaguar 64 bit system: AWESOME!!!

  • sorry alien trilogy on ps1 was far better

  • To this day the Jaguar has the best Alien or Predator game on any system. Too bad the system did not take off. It was totally lacking in 3rd party support.

  • BRONER

  • you know what their right i should by an n64 for 200 instead of buying a ps1 for 300 or a saturn for 400

  • amen

  • AvP all the way

    everything else ate dick

  • what about tempest 2000

  • or doom and rayman

  • and eating dick is gooooooooooood :P

  • It is 64-bit by the registers.

N64 is the only true 64-bit system

  • well idk, is the DS considered a 64 bit machine? cause itsn graphic sort of looks like the N64 ones.

  • @Warriorcats64 The Playstation is 64-bit...

  • @WaddleJrJr the playstation is a 32 bit console my friend and also was the Sega Saturn, the only true 64 bit console was the N64 but its problem was that the N64 still used cartridges so developers couldnt include cinematics or a better quality sound to the games and a CD can hold much more data than a cartridge. Still the N64 had better graphics than the PS1

  • @muvrrey Half truth. The did PS1 manage to have games that looked better than N64 games. Not many of them of course, but a few? Yeah.

As for the Jaguar. The only game worth having for that console was Tempest 2000. Doom was ok, but the PC version was much better.

  • @WaddleJrJr who the hell says that, is of 32

  • @Warriorcats64 true

  • @Warriorcats64 what about the PS3. Oh wait thats 6000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 bit

  • @Warriorcats64 Technically, the Atari Jaguar actually IS 64-bit. But no one ever believed it. The way the Jaguar was made was using a 32-bit processor, then adding a ton of other small processors which added up to 64. It's confusing I know, but this made it hard for programmers to make graphics in games to the full Jaguar capability. Which is why most game graphics are mostly 32-bit or lower.

  • actually it's 32 bit, proven by ben heck

  • I dont get it, playstation is 32 bit and looks so much better? How is this crap 64?

  • to rahungry

Because, with 32 bit or 64 bit refers to the CPU of the console. And it has nothing to do with the graphics. Theses ones depends on the graphic processor.

Ok, we know Jaguar is not a 64 bit console, because it used two 32 bit processor, but the graphic processor was very poor, compare to other consoles of 5th generation.

  • graphics don't make the game, the game makes the game!

  • oh the poor game designer who roll over in their doretos after hearing that..

  • Why would you buy a more expensive 32 bit system? Because it's a helluva lot better.

  • @geekboyII yup and it has better games like Gran turismo grand theft auto and metal gear solid

  • this commercial freak me out

  • duude omg that's halerious. so this was advertisment in the 90's, nice

  • bwhaaahahahahaha....Jaguar...more like slightly advanced 16-bit...but wait, the motorola 68k cpu was a 32-bit cpu...hmmm...this makes the Mega Drive a 32-bit system...wow, Math is great.

  • they put more then just 1 cpu in a jaguar...

  • then tell me which cpu or ANY component of the Jag hardware was capable of rendering real time polygon 3D-graphics with texture mapping in 64-bit. Every Jag-fanboy should admit that the Jaguar was nowhere near the rendering capabilities of a Playstation, Saturn or N64. Sad but true, when it comes to 3D the Jaguar is the same league as the Sega 32X. And to be precise the Jag indeed had only one CPU: the 16-Bit Motorola that was also used in the Mega Drive. The rest are GPU´s, Blitters and others.

  • Duuude this isnt classic its old. LOL!

  • wtf? thats atari's 64 bit system god the graphics look like 16 bit!

  • if you ask me, they look like shapes made out of bubble gum... kind of...

  • ? Weirdest Commercial Ever.......

  • u should check out some more jaguar commercials, but first check the creepy alien vs preditor one
