  • Dear WeaponEX -- I would be happy to answer your questions -- sorry for the late response -- best Climbersax

  • as a musician, you become the color, you become the texture, you become that spontaneity as the artist whips paint at the canvas

  • This is clearly incredible.

Mr. Climbersax, you sound like an expert on the Soundpainting system/format? If so, I wonder if you wouldn't mind answering some questions.

    Thank you

  • @weaponEX -- I would be happy to answer your questions -- sorry for the late response -- best, Climbersax

  • This is interesting, but I can't help but notice that it becomes all about the composer. Wouldn't it be cool if the signs he uses were replaced by gestures or indications more universally found in nature, life, or art. Imagine if you could play different visuals and get the same interpretation and "improvisation" from every performer?

  • Obviously you have never been in a Soundpainting group. Perhaps you should study it a bit more before making this comment. Soundpainting is a live composing sign language -- a composers work whether it is Beethoven or Dylan is about the composer's ideas and imagination -- and why not!

  • @climbersax Study more? As if I don't understand the premise for your Soundpaintings? I simply suggested a possible variation or continuation of the idea. I wasn't trying to assault the role of a composer. You have only reinforced my assertion that this form of art is about the composer and that that's the way you want it. That's fine. Again, I'm suggesting an extension and/or continuation of the idea, not a replacement. I don't appreciate the condescending nature of your response.

  • @climbersax I know this comment is a year old, but I don't think it was necessary to try to berate me for my interpretation of this video. I acknowledged that it was interesting and then gave, yes, an opinion on it. I don' think this requires "being in a soundpainting group." How many people ever will be or would even want to be? If you cannot look at art from the perspective of the audience and "wonder what comes next," perhaps it is you that should study something before posting.

  • @jastanger -- sorry for my "condescending" tone in the last post. I think I must have had too much coffee that day! (smile) You are right that one doesn't need to be in a Soundpainting group in order to grasp it's live composition. An interesting point about your recent post stating "how many people ever will be or would even want to be {in a SP group}" is an interesting point -- Soundpainting has been taught to many people from all walks of life with great success. Are you a composer?

  • @climbersax No. I'm not a composer. I do sound design for hyper-media. Film, animation, etc. I also do some music production in my spare time. I am interested in the ecology of sound and different ways of interpreting art and life with sound. I think soundpainting is interesting and a great art form. There is a lot of substance. I think it could be a basis for many other outcropping ideas.

  • Super travail, j'aime beaucoup!

  • Bravo!!!
