Gesta has decent speed and power, but he leaves himself open for counters. He also fights in spurts and when he lets his hands go, his punches often lack crispness and accuracy. A boxer with good technique would make him miss more and take advantage of those openings. Look at those wild punches at 8:05

The biggest drawbacks I see in many filipino boxer is that they don't hav enough good boxing skills to carry them in the fight. This is due more to filipino trainers who lack the proper ability and knowledge to impart good boxing skills to their stables. Watch the show Fisturama and you'll see what I mean. Also, latino boxers like mex & pr. have a good pool of boxing trainers. You can tell by the way their boxer are well rounded and have good boxing skills even their lesser boxers.

mercito has a lot of potential but he needs a excellent trainer to improve more his style .. the power punch and speed are there but it needs some enhancement to be a perfect fighter.. he needs freddy roach a trainer.. i tell you guys he can beat mayweather!!!!

i seen gesta at wild card with his trainer..think they work with roach on the kids game,,seems to know what he's doing gesta looks good and handles a lot of the bigger guys in the gym..i think a step up in comp is needed and wanted..good fighter

Gesta has great potential, but he needs to improve in his head movements, stamina, conditioning. Gesta is strong, has excellent footwork, great boxing intellegence, seems like all heart, and has all the potential to be a powerhouse if he signs and improves with a well known trainer....e.g. Roach. This guy is for real and his management should not rush him into a major belt fight, he needs 5 more tune up fights before stepping into the lime light. No Mercy Gesta!
