Answer to bentley101010's question: the engines in the Q7 come from Zuffenhausen, Germany, where Porsche 911s are built. The Q7s themselves are built in Bratislava, Slovakia. In his show "Kitchen Nightmares", top chef Gordon Ramsay was seen driving a Q7.
The cooperation between the workers is clearly apparent. Also, interestingly it seems there are times when 4 men do the job where I think American manufacturers would only use two.Indicating an efficient use of resources.I think American manufacturers could be equally competitive in terms of quality/price if only the executives reeled in the accountants and brought in inspired engineers.
It appears to be an efficient combination of manual labor and automated assembly. They seem to take maximum advantage of an inexpensive labor pool in a former Soviet Bloc country. Also it seems a lot of engineering work went into how the vehicle should be assembled as well as the vehicle itself.

Assembly is part of manufacturing. But you got a point, the work behind this is also important.
