I'm gonna keep searching for more videos from you electric Beetle owners, but, for now, you're just not showing enough to convince me it's worth the money and time. You don't explain your Beetle's top possible speed, unless you don't know what that is, how long you can maintain that top speed, whether the car is auto now or still manually shifted and how much it's gonna cost approximate to have it done. I'm currently looking for a way to increase my Beetle's top speed to 80 or 90 mph.
Didn't you see the Two batteries under the bonnet? They arent standard size batteries. They looked like gargantuan, and there are another four in the back. Mr Kling does not seem like a braggart.
Very nice conversion! How many miles on it now? Hope you're happy with the ImPulse 9, it is a nice match for the VW, the WarP 9 is about the max power a stock VW tranny can handle, but people are also using the WarP 11 (not recommended as the pressure plates (even racing ones) will have a difficult time with the 11" torque...) Looking forward to more videos!
I used to have a 1969 (gas version) - the heat comes directly off the engine fan because there is no cooling system, antifreeze, or heater core. In the winter bugs are frigid - but they never freeze up...
dude where do you live? the place is so beautiful!!! i sooo envy you!
btw do you experience lower range due to colder enviroment? I have read that in -20 degrees the battery capasity drops up to 60%! what are your experiences with your car?
Good news you will get new Nanotech battery A123 systems more powerful than Lithium-ion Powered ! The Nanotech battery quick charged in 5 mins get full , you will get about 400 miles range
Quick charge is 15mins, STD charge is 30mins, for best life cycle should use 1hr charge. Awsome batteries tho, and NOW available to the public. Unbeatable performance.
Sir, You are a national hero! Can you just imagine the impact on the American Automotive industry transitioning toward a conversion of existing automobiles to all electric such as your example? If a single person can put together such an elegant conversion for gasoline to electric then we can only imagine the positive impact on our economy when thousands of other entrepreneurs get rolling? While our corrupt government hands out billions to their corporate master, citizens like you will save us.
Nice job Dale !! Nice seeing you again too.

This is one of those rare videos that shows an electric car can go even in the snow... thanks for showing that.

Your motor seems to be a bit more heavy-duty than others I've seen; a bit larger? Just how many hp does it produce under load?

Led Acid batteries
350 charges
1-2 year life span $2000 (for around 12 high quality units)
Lithium Ion batteries
3000 charges
10 - 20 year life span
~ $10,000 au for equivalent to 12
Pro: Around 70% battery weight and space reduction
Con: Batteries do not charge when below -11*C

Amazing. I need to get one of those, man. I wonder what it costs to build one? This is the future of transportation.
