  • I remember listening to this recording when I was a kid. I always thought, 'those poor men having to stand there while that one guy talks on and on and on."

Kids always put their own spin on things. ;-)

    Thanks for bringing back memories.

  • ohhh look how young he is!!! I love George he's my favorite!!

  • Beautiful...GOD bless you.

  • post a few more bless you

  • just came across this little jewel.. wow. Never saw any of their music from the early days..

  • It's kinda funny watching Haskel on the piano when he puts his face all the down to the keyboard!

  • thats not Haskel,is a canadian and I can,t remember his name

  • That is Lorne Matthews on Piano. He and his wife still travel singing and playing.

  • Neat to see Roy singing baritone. We have had him sing at our church twice. He still travels and sings for love offerings. He has a sweet testimony of how God humbled him and drew him back into music ministry.

  • Was? Is he dead? That makes me very sad, if it is the case.

  • Yes, he is dead; he died April 11, 2005. Glen Payne is also dead, he died before they finished their farewell tour in 1999. Miss seeing them and hearing them sing--definitely among the very best!

  • George Younce is gone to heaven now too. Mark Lowry had quite an amazing story to tell about his passing. From what I remember reading, George wanted to see Oh What a Day That Will Be and family gathered around him sang it..When they got to the part , "When He takes me by the Hand...." Mark said George lifted his hand into the air and then he was gone from this earth. I wonder if he didn't see the Master's hand reaching for him??? Amazing story.

  • Wow, George in his prime...a gift from God was he indeed...

  • Delora and Roger used to sing this years ago at the nursing homes those people just loved it ,miss them and love George .

  • Lineup:Bass-George Younce, Lead-Glen Payne, Baritone-Roy Tremble, Tenor-Mack Taunton

  • Any idear what ever happen to Mack Taunton?? I know he was on their Reunion Tape. Also I know he wrote the beautiful song of "Sunshine and Roses" I love gospel music and seeing all the old timers really brings back memories. The Kingsmen Quartet is one of my favorites. Thanks for all your information.

  • I think the tenor is Roger Horne. I think he started about when Roy Tremble came on board. Was there a very short time.

  • Uma voz marcante e poderosa em favor do louvor a Deus.

  • This brings back precious memories of Delora singing this song 25 years ago in a little church it tore my heart out thank you.

  • I needed this thank you .

  • was looking for this song by Tex Ritter...this version is great

  • How blessed we are to see these guys so long ago... praise God... thank you...

  • George we miss you. I really like this video thanks for posting it. It's good to see one of the old ones with Matt Taunton singing the tenor. George would have really enjoyed that nice bass singer who sounds alot like George who sings with his son-in-law, Ernie Hass and the Signature Sound. Thanks again for posting this.

  • well luckily he did live long enough to see ernie haase and signature sound and he even appeared with them in a few concerts, he was really proud

  • hoover 4000 I have seen other video's you have posted. You do a good job. Thanks, I do remember something about George knowing of the Signature sound. I sure would have loved to seen George appearing with them. I did see George susprising ever one on Bill Gaither's DVD for the last time. He had really loss alot of weight but we all know why. Thanks for replying.

  • I consider the Cathedrals the greatest quartet ever. My life was enhanced by their beautiful singing and their evident love for the Lord.

  • What a rare find and great video! I miss the Cathedral Quartet...

  • Yes, the touch of the masters hand is all that is needed by anyone.I pray that you receive him now.
