If Tony killed Paulie when he had the chance on the boat, the NJ bosses would still be alive, except for Christopher. Paulie always quietly stayed on good terms with NY Johnny Sac & Butch. Why else would Paulie screw up the whack on Phil & his gumar? He accidentally killed look-alikes to stay on good terms w/ NY. So, in the finale, we see Paulie sittin in front of Satrialle's. He's alone, but Paulie is in charge with an orange cat he don't like.
Look. Let's drop this whole "He's wasn't a fuckin rat!" thing! As we all know, mobsters and people in trouble with the law alike, have no morals or codes that they actually respect. Everyone of those fucks were soulless sociopaths. Tony and Paulie were two of the biggest hypocrites ever. Not knocking the show. Just saying.
a few years after the joke incident and tony still didn't let paulie of the hook, and also this is the third time(if I am not mistaken) that tony''interogates'' him. I think what theys wanted to show here is that there is going to be a forth time and eventually tony i going to kill paulie
Paulie told Johnny Sac to score brownie points but he lost any love he had fror johnny when he found out carmine didnt even know who he was. Paulie wasnt a big earner or the smartest of guys he was just old school muscle. He couldnt catch a break to save his life and wasnt smart enuff to make one happen but he was still loyal he was just a gossip like a lil ol lady lol.
@tonypanz Paulie had done alot of shit for an old guy i mean at the end of the day New Jersey family died but he was the only one standing plus he did impress tony when he slapped those random guys around and got a good deal for tony, or when him and christopher kill the big european guy
@Iamthelaw1526 Yeah he did. Didn't he have some hot girl that Tony was banging behind his back? i think she said something to the effect that Ralphie liked that kind of faggy kinky sex. lol
The more and more I see scenes of Paulie, the more I detest him. He didn't really have much loyalty, and he beefed with almost every member of the family. He was more of a liability than an asset.
I'd say chris was a bigger liability. He was a coke head. Paulie at best was just trying to score some points with NY and sure, it could have been deadly because Johnny Sac wanted to whack Phil. But then again, Tony ended up killing him anyway. Wanna talk about liability? everyone had their own faults.
how should I know?...... :/

@OhioPaulDE
I agree. Paulie was freaking hilarious and my favorite charcter, but he wasn't that great of an asset to Soprano.
Tony's a cocksucker too, but Paulie wasn't loyal and even wasn't much of an earner compared to guys like Vito, Ralph and Larry Boy Barese.

Yes, if you watch in one of the Season 4 episodes. Tony spoke to Silvio about Paulie being the source of the Ginnie Sac fat joke.
