  • an alto sax is played in the E FLAT key a soprano is played In B FLAT in other words the first note is E FLAT on the alto and B Flat on the soprano one

  • Man is it possible to tell me whats the difference between and alto sax and the sopran one?

  • @BlackLabelSocietyLP

    mainly the size !

  • @BlackLabelSocietyLP

The tone qualities actually. The tone of a soprano sounds similar to an amplified oboe. Alto has its own sounds. Can you distinguish a alto and tenor? I can. Listen to all the saxes and you'll be able to tell whats soprano, whats alto, whats tenor, and whats bari. Hope this helps!!! :)

  • Joli son. Mais je me doute que tu y est pour quelque chose…..Tu pourrais me faire changer d’avis sur le thomann^^

    Bonne zik…

  • A beginner, sounds like your a natural player, how long have you had it. I was told a Yamaha 4C mouthpiece is a beginners best.

  • @isleman44

You were told wrong ! 4C is just bad. A professional player can make it sound, but a beginner should use good material, it's the best way to learn and get better and better.

I teach to around 40 pupils, 7 to 60 years old, beginner to advanced, I know my job ;)

  • @Antoine0r Ok got you, what do you think is the best mouthpiece for a beginner, I seem to get on with Rico Royals 2-2.5 reeds ok.

  • @isleman44

    Selmer, S90 170, or eventually, Selmer S80 C*

try 2,5 traditionnal Vandoren reeds (the dark blue box) or 2 for children.

  • @isleman44

I don't know what means "a natural player" ; sorry.

  • Merci beaucoup Antoine I will follow your advise and I will try with the selmer one and I Thanks you the importance ranking of Sax, Mouthpiece and player. Thanks very much indeed. Gongratulations for your music I have visited your web page.

  • Antoine can you advise me a good one for jazz and with a price proportional to the sax. I am a complete beginner . I think the mouthpiece is very important for the sound of the sax . I bought the thomann TSS-350 because have a very good price but is quite difficult with the mouthpiece that brings that the reason tI am thinking o change the mouthpiece and I don´t mind to expend a little more money but get the proper one and I am impressed with the sound you get from your sax

    Thaks again

  • @1500aex

In my opinion the sound is :

    90% the player

    9% the mouthpiece-reed

    1% the sax.

You say you are beginner, so you should play a Selmer S90-170 mouthpiece for a few years before choosing a "jazz" mouthpiece.

    hope it help.

  • Thanks you for your fast answer. I like to play jazz with the sopran sax I think will be nice with this mouthpice. Thanks you again.

  • @1500aex

you should try several mouthpieces to choose the one you like more.

  • Hi Antoine only one question is the Claude Lakey 6* compatible with the thoman ligature and cap. Thanks you.

  • @1500aex

    Yes.

  • Does the brightness change when you use different mouthpieces?

  • @bskkid4eva

    Yes, widely

  • Oh, das was wunderschön! Wie viel kostet es? :3

  • @pisse3000

Es kostet 250€ (Es was ein B-Stock)

(Das Mundstück ist circa 100€ !!)

  • @Antoine0r OK!
