  • best goaltender was born..!!! his name is DOMINATOR !!!

  • "This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object."

  • Picture Hawks management watching this performance from up above salivating at the possibility of acquiring Stephane Beauregard and a 4th round pick from the Sabres.

  • This shit is ridiculous-1:32

  • @guacamolechief39

I think the word you were looking for is "awesome"

  • Hasek's team was shit...

  • his team-mates were so fucking bad

  • This was Haseks coming out party. But nobody could touch Lemieux during these days.. look how many chances he had and this was the Stanley Cup Final!!

  • DOMINATOOOORRR!!!!

  • Lemieux had like a million shots hahaha unreal

  • ''made more moves then May West...'' lmao!!

  • Dominator

  • In the last clip Lemieux had too much respect for Hasek. He lost it before he even shot the puck.

  • @kekke2000

I really, really don't think that was the case.

  • the beginning of hasek's legend

  • He's one of the reasons, that I am proud to be a Czech : )

  • he saved that game.

    thats for sure

  • Hassek's magic

  • Yeah, who won this game and series on this very night? Yeah.

  • Mario Lemieux disliked this video.

  • @yablecki I have to laugh :-D

  • @yablecki me too =D that one was good

  • @yablecki i laughed

  • The GOAT

  • all i got to say is TIM THOMAS

  • unreal.

  • watching hasek stopp lemieux is a surreal experience to say the least

  • i think hasek wore that same exact helmet his entire career. lmao

  • He gave more moves than Mae West on that one. haha

  • wonder how it would of went if they played hasek over belfour in every game

  • @kratoslinkmaster -Chicago would have either gotten swept or lost in 5. Barasso stood up just as tall, evidenced by that big cup he won the night of these highlights.

  • jagr, lemieux, francis, tocchet on one team???? dam hasek did what was only humanely possible with his no name chicago defense

  • why wasnt Belfour playing?

and why didnt the Hawks have Hasek play the entire series?

  • Nice Video!! its interesting how the announcers didnt really know Hasek, and how they commented about him.

  • Lemieux always said Hasek was the toughest goalie he ever played against. He only had a goal and 2 assists in this game - could have been 3 or 4 goals. Makes you wonder what would have happened if Hasek played the whole series...

  • i'm curious to see how many breakaways lemieux had this game. wish it was still this great today

  • Tom Barrasso!

  • I think the score was Pittsburgh 8 and Chicago 0....Dominik Hasek replaced Ed Belfour. Chicago got swept in the finals...lol

  • @jkappianaq No that was game 6 of the 91 finals at Minnesota. This was game 4, which Pittsburgh won 6-5 to sweep the series. Hasek let in 4 goals and yet still made these saves. Tells you how badly the Pens offense was outplaying Chicago's D. Hasek was the unproven one and Belfour you just couldn't trade. It hurt 3 years after trading the Dominator because Belfour was dealt in favour of Jeff Hackett who was swapped for Jocelyn Thibault. Hasek meanwhile became maybe the best goalie ever.

  • wow blackhawks sucked in 92...good thing hasek was there

  • I wish Hasek could have won one in Buffalo.

  • First off, I agree with everybody who says these should be the standard size of goalie pads. These pads force goalies to challenge and move around more and makes it harder to stop pucks, but they do help em move quicker and it's a lot more interesting. Second, Dominik displayed all he ever did in his entire career in this single game: stop a lot of pucks in dazzling ways. what he did when stopping a puck blew my mind, and he still stopped it. He set the standard for "WHAT A FUCKIN' SAVE!

  • great commentary .. :-)

  • Yeah, the Mae West comment was epic.

  • Can they play defense or what the hell?

  • And people say nobody will get near 80 goals or 100 assists again...HOW!?! Look at the damn size of the gear of the goalies compared to back then. People say "oh the sticks are better now so the shots are harder" Bullshit! Put an Al MacInnis shot or Al Iafrate against a Phaneuf or Souray shot today with their comps, and they'll still be pretty damn close. Something needs to be done about the damn Michellin Men in net these days.

  • @Jatt96 dude goalies from back in the day would be DESTROYED today cmon be realistic

  • @Slushyyy639 ha who is better then hasek broduer and roy and fuhr u fuckin idiot

  • @Derek393 yes asshole they would be much better

  • @Jatt96

haha Michelin Men - I love this statement, it's so damn true that goalies wear too much shit on themselves today

  • 6 vezina's, 2 straight harts, olympic gold medal, stanley cup all time best NHL save percentage 92.23%. one of the greatest net minders of all time. Dominik "The Dominator" Hašek.

  • What a save by hasek at 2:51

  • 1:32 DOMINATOR THE BEST!!!

  • Dominik Hasek is better then Chuck Norris...!!!

Lemieux and Jagr...nice challange but dominator was excellent

  • That was the dumbest trade chicago ever made...

  • I remember watching this game as a kid. I couldn't believe this goalie that I never heard of at the time kept robbing Lemieux.

  • Great quality for that time nice post

  • Lemieus was such a great player

  • Wish I could see him in NHL in those SHINING times. I can only see him these days in Czech league, which is great, but Hasek is not anymore.

  • thks 4 post!

  • i hadn't seen this before. i was only five at the time. i was never a fan of hasek, maybe because i'm a flyers fan, but this video is impressive.

  • The start of a legend.

  • fantastic video of the begin of the dominator. great qualities of the video.

  • some say blaine lacher also, LOL

  • 1:32

  • @jend99 I got kicked out of my university library for laughing so hard.

  • some say hasek isent #! but hasek is

  • THIS was the game that made people notice Hasek, Truly his first shining moment.

  • thanks for uploading this, amazing to see this kind of effort during that game, what a goalie

  • very, entertaining and sure knows how to cut down the angles

  • Some people might say Hasek isn't the greatest of all time but he's definitely #1 as most entertaining goalie of all time.

  • People argue who the best goalies of all time are... Some say Roy is best of all time, some say Brodeur, Gretzky says Grant Fuhr, many say Hasek, even a couple choice few say Luongo, even though he's just playing his career...

But one thing's true, Hasek is for SURE one of the best of all time, the most flexible, and the best of shape of any goalie. Great saves Dominator, thanks for posting this!

  • Some say Sawchuk also.

  • Thankyou so much for posting this!! I remember this whole series. Hasek is the best. A total flopper who makes a dramatic save all the time!! So fun to watch. I saw him at Chicago Stadium during these playoffs in '92 and wondered why he wasn't the Hawks starting goalie. I also wondered why the they traded him when he did so well in the playoffs? Probably the same reason the Hawks just traded Marty Havlat. The owners are fucking stupid.

  • Well, Havlat wasn't traded. He left as a free agent. And unlike with Hasek, they replaced Havlat with a more talented player. Though if Mike Keenan hadn't been shot down by ownership, he'd have kept Hasek and traded Belfour in a package deal for Eric Lindros. Now that would have been a fun team to watch.

  • This should be the standard size of goalie pads.

  • yes, you are right.

  • @Manifestation Absolutely right. Goaltenders are not goaltenders anymore, they're puckstoppers.

  • @1984Punx I'd love to be able to get goalie equipment that's not freaking gigantic. Moving around quickly is such a pain in the ass with all the stuff there is now. :(

  • @Manifestation I wish. Huge goalie pads are such a pain in the ass to move in. I was much better in the basic goalie pads. xD

  • @Manifestation 11 inches isnt small enough?

  • @Manifestation are these smaller or bigger then goalie pads now i unfimilliar with goalie pad sizes thanks

  • @Manifestation yeah dude either that or i think maybe a little smaller, like the type Grant Fuhr wore with the Oilers would be great.

  • Hasek Rulz!

  • these are amazing
