I use an embroidery machine and I feel it is artistic. I pick the designs, put them together the way I like them, add words, flowers, anything I want, anystyle. I put it all together and make a one of a kind piece that you will never see anywhere else. I can embelish clothing, greeting cards, household linens, anything I want. I feel very creative and artistic when I embroider, even if I am using purchased designs.
I don't understand why people are moaning about the use of the machine for embroidery. It's another art form ... this is what art is, finding new ways to create. Some people have very closed minds I guess and can't see the many posibilities a machine can give.
Once upon a time, Jackson Pollock came along and blew away the paint brush and formulaic theory.
The "modern" thing is about the optical assistance provided by the sewing machine , through a device called "BSR" . Take a look on BERNINA 440 QE : BSR.
@Fraususemil No i'm not, We were talking about the difference between an embroidery machine that does full stitches for you as opposed to this free hand style. This is artistic, embroidery machines are not....

I'm pretty sure you can do exactly the same thing with a normal sewing machine.

What is so "modern" about doing something in nearly the most archaic way possible?

Why not just use an embroidery machine. Is it the "free hand" look that is so appealing?
babner 2 years ago
yes the point is that it is free hand. it's not archaic.... embriodery machines arn't art they are just carbon copies of things ...
