did propranolol erase the memory, or did it inhibited the fear response? if the fear response was measured via heart rate or stress-hormone level, it is likely that propranolols effects were influnencing these physiological stress parameters instead of the (psychological) emotional response.
dont fully understand. I mean, are they saying that they will eventually come out with a drug that will completely erase the memory to the extent of which the patient wont even be able to remember what reason they came in for in the first place, or will it jus be like, after the procedure the patients still know what thier bad memories are but, they just cant recall the actuall experiece of it. Like as if it happened to someone else instead of them.
Guys it doesn't erase memory. Just the fear associated memory. And besides the studies are sketchy at best. Now I have a number fear associated memories that are pretty debilitating now I personally couldn't give a fuck about ethics. I just want my positive association there without the negative one getting in the way. I applore this research but its a bit too shotgun at the moment.
