I guess, the "purest" would look at it that way. I haven't listened to The Doors since I was in High School, some 20+ years ago. Don't get me wrong, the origionals are great! but I can only listen to them so many times before I want to listen to something new. To each his own I guess.

For me anyway its like taking a fine classic muscle car and doing a hack or mod job to it .. To me the originals are works of art and should be preserved. For example, think of all the fantastic old 60's chevy Impalas that were destroyed when they came under the lustful gaze of some crazed mexican who wanted to make it hop in its new life as a low rider... not to mention what they did to the interiors ! haha
