I LOVE Blaze's solo work -- SIlicon Messiah is one of my favourite albums - but he was NOT a good fit for Maiden. I think it was a good experience for him, as it taught him a lot about being a musician - and meant that Bruce's return was even better. I also think that the songs which were written for Blaze (X Factor / Virtual XI ) are mostly amazing, with such incredible songs as SoTC, Lord of the Flies, Futureal and The Clansman.
