  • Didn't know their was a show with my name!! and it's a pretty cool show :)

  • oh my stars....your color is very hectic...

  • mslegacy, I can't name a single comment anywhere on here that is as funny as that one! I have laughed and laughed. Psychobabble. Lol. That word probably hadn't been coined at the time this show was filmed. This show would hit the ground like a lead balloon these days. Hazel. A slave. That is funny stuff. You should look for work as a movie reviewer. Awesome comment!

  • As much as I love this show...and watch it on t.v...the more angrier I get with the mindset of her character and the snobby nosed Baxter's and their friends who use her mercilessly! Knowing she has no kids, family or husband (and desperately wants them) they keep her subordinate and underfoot as their personal cheap slave by using verbal & Psychology Psyco-babble--telling her she's *one of the family*--yeah...right! Picture THAT!

  • I love Hazel!!

  • Whitney Blake sure was one hot lady back then .i bet it was hard for old don defore to keep his hands off her.

  • Hazel had a great hangover potion for Mr B. That's why he kept her around, I never saw her clean anything!

  • Hazel was funny , but

  • I never knew that 'Mrs. B' was Meredith Baxter's mother. Mrs. B (Whitney Blake) was a great looking lady!

  • Does anyone have Hazel on DVD they could download for us on You Tube?

  • I love his voice! So soothing and smooth. :)

  • thanks for posting js. would love to see full episodes. your efforts are appreciated.

  • tht gal looks like my cousins gf and that's not a good thing :O

  • She was funny, but I also loved Alice too (Brady Bunch Alice). Alice from the Brady Bunch was the most funny of the Brady Bunch. Hazil was a natural common funny person!

  • TV from my childhood. Thanks for the memories.

  • every time i hear shirley booth's voice it reminds me of " the year witout a santa claus"

  • LOL..oh my, I liked this show as a kid...watched it all the time. Great seeing this again.

  • loved this show

  • the woman who played Hazel played the voice of Mrs. Clause in the Year without a Santa Clause

  • I always thought the mom was smoking!

  • Today, Hazel would be asking at least 100.00 bucks for that hospitality.

  • Shirley Booth is best actress oscar winner

  • I disagree, Julie Andrews is. Followed very closely by Audrey Hepburn.

  • Yes, for "Little Sheba"

  • my name is hazel!

    hahaha

  • god bless you james we miss you on our screens

  • YEP!

  • johnny lancer

  • Was there a different Mr. B?

  • I love Shirley Booth

  • Whoaaaaaaaaaaa!! The macrovision is makin' my eyes crazy!!!

  • wow!almost forgot about this one, I remember watching it as a kid. wish there was more. you are right , these old shows are great. wish our oldies network would play some of these classics

    thanks

  • Its out on DVD.

  • I hope classic Screen Gems is on it rather than that dreaded Sony logo or it is after it instead.

  • Men sure where catered to, to much back then.

  • @jswoman Awww....I used to LOVE Hazel. (As a little girl) I liked her voice.

  • @jswoman

hazel is on anntennatv. launched 1/1/2011, antennatv.tv.

it reaches about 50 million people but not everyone

  • @The096757 Let me tell you I never heard of this show till seeing it on AntennaTV now I like the show. I do miss Retro TV.

  • @LycoValleyRRFan

antennatv.tv is a better station than retro tv which has too many western and detective shows. there isn't a lot of screaming in the 60s sitcoms unlike the 70s sitcoms made by norman lear. THiS tv has a lot of good movies that i never heard of or seen before. there are enough good free tv channels that you don't need cable if you get a good reception.

  • @The096757 Well I liked Adam12, Emergency, Dragnet 1968, and A team. Others I didn't care for.

  • TV sure isn't like it use to be, thanks for this wonderful post.

  • Hi there, you're very welcome. Yes TV is sure not like it used to be, so it's good to keep the past fresh for all to remember. Thanks for viewing.

    Thanks for viewing.

  • Whitney Blake is my aunt! She is my grandpas aunt and my aunt i can't belive my aunt is a famous actress she died of cancer miss omaha also was my cousin she died when she was 33.

  • Pop diva Whitney Houston took her name from this charming actress!

  • It's a good feeling to have had a relative as a famous actress. I met a woman once whose mother was Queen of the Lot in Hollywood back in the 30s...

  • Thanks for posting! Love Hazel, but who is James Stacy?

  • My favorite show when I was 4. Funny that I remember Hazel. I absolutely LOVED Hazel.

  • Hi happy to bring back fond memories. Thanks for viewing.

    jswoman.

  • I loved this show! I always remember Whitney Blake looking so immaculately perfect in her tight 1960s skirts, high heels, and big 1960s hairdo--much more personality than her daughter Meredith! Everybody watching wished they had a Hazel. ;)

  • Myself, I wish I had a Missy! Tight skirt, high heels - Yowsa!

  • nice show!!

  • Classic beauty is correct, Whitney Blake was a beautiful woman

  • Who is the actor playing David?

  • james stacy, he is crippled from a bad accident, I believe he lost a leg. very sad

  • The actor playing David is James Stacy. He was married briefly to Connie Stevens right around the time he filmed this episode (I think around 1963). Stacy was seriously injured on his motorcycle in 1973 (his girlfriend was killed); he lost his left arm and leg in the crash (hit by a drunk driver). After the accident, he returned to acting in parts written to accommodate his needs.

  • God, that's a terrible story. Sorry for sounding cliche or banal, but it's amazing how in life even someone blessed with talent and beauty can be dealt such harsh blows. Concerning this little clip, it's weird to see it out of the context of the whole show. The scene ends so gravely- this was a bright eyed sitcom, after all. You've imagine that Hazel goes ahead and sets things right.

I remember being 7 or 8 and watching this show, thinking how great it would be to havea Hazel in my home.

  • His brother sells JAMES STACY memorabilia on EBAY.

Stacy was also married to actress KIM DARBY (was the teen age girl in TRUE GRIT with John Wayne and Glen Campbell.)

I'm a big fan and hope that Mr.Stacy (Maurice Elias) has more peace in his later years and is free of all past legal issues.

  • I called this show hazel nut

  • And if you watched "Family Ties" in the 1980s, you saw a continuation of that classic beauty...Meredith Baxter is Whitney Blake's daughter...

  • Whitney Blake (Mrs. Baxter) was a classic beauty.
