This song was first made by two girls from Brooklyn. They missed New York when they were in another state, so they wrote this song. No record label wanted to release it, so they send it to Jay-z. Jay-z liked the song and wanted to make this song with the two girls (he added his own lyrics), but they thought Alicia Keys would be better, so they asked her if she wanted do do the song with Jay-z. And the rest is history. If it wasn't for Jay-z, we wouldn't even know about this song.

@briannb12 provided you've got the sheets like me - i guess you've got primary problems with the rhythm of the song as i had. the trick is to practice the piece with a constant eigth notes-series and try to play the melody at the same time. if you can handle that, try to leave out some of these eigth notes as it's written down in the sheets. et voilà :)
