  • Isnt Dave one of the guys who began the Sierra Nascar games ? I would like to know why they want to make it where you pay for a year, monthly etc. instead of just buying the game from a retailer so you can have an actual disc for the game instead of buying this thing and having to download it etc. and then buy tracks additionally ? I mean seriously, doesnt Nascar make enough already off of marketing. geesh.

  • @gocoletrickle That's nothing to do with NASCAR. iRacing models many different types of racing. They released this way because they wanted to, the same as other developers want to. Every MMO is like this.

  • @gocoletrickle I seriously don't mind it and I see the reasons behind it. Top reason why, it costs money to do what they do with as much detail as goes into it, for them to sell everything they have in one package for the prices you're used to seeing in stores and not charge an additonal fee isn't realistic or ideal for a company to make enough money to recoup their costs. Most MMO's are released at a price point of 59.95 with a monthly fee of atleast 15.00 a month. This is within that pricing

  • I am expecting a 360 game in my opinion, because gt5 has rights to it, and so does iracing, and nascar said they have no plans for nascar to be exclusive, so i just have to wait and see i guess.

  • I believe GT5 has licensed cars, but is not an officially sanctioned NASCAR series where you compete for a NASCAR title.

  • Yeah, and I am thinking that NASCAR races in gt5 will be alot like forza 3's, where there is just a gametype.

  • Is all very nice, too bad they want it to be just american road and oval world championships, as the time of races is wed nights US time, thats middle of work/school day for aussies, 3am for euros.

  • Based on last week's bullshit race@Talladega, my opinion is that NASCAR cant even get the real thing right, why the FUCK do they think they need to focus on a sim? Ive been a big NASCAR fan for years, as well as a huge fan of NASCAR racing at Talladega, but after this shit, Id be happy if they NEVER, EVER come back to Alabama again, there are plenty of other series who would do 'Dega justice.

  • Plz plz plz update or fix the car sounds for the stock cars! If you can laser scan a track. Shouldn't you have the technolgy to record in car sounds from real race cars? Have you ever heared a onboard camera on a stock car. A NASCAR Sprint Cup car letting off at 7K RPMs is probably one of the coolest sounds in the world. Yet NO sim has ever recreated it. Even NR2003 had horrible let off sounds. That is my only request. Fix the let off sounds on ALL of the stock cars

  • Sounds are accurate to drivers audio, what they actually hear. What is not yet complete, are the effects of the sound outside the car. For example there is no echo off the wall back into the cockpit.

  • I will come back to iRacing if the sounds are fixed. I am not the only one who thinks the cockpit sounds are not accurate. The camera inside a stock car hears the audio of a 800 HP motor letting off.....So please add that into the game. What about the British spotter in the game is he please going to go away forever?

  • iRacing is Great. A great sim, a great idea, period.

    My only gripe, and its not anything to do with iracing is that I dont "feel" the car. FFB and practice gives you a feel and train you to translate that into how the car behaving.But so far there is no peace of hardware that can give you that seat of the pants feel.

  • Man if only Iracing had some dirt late models or modifieds...maybe start out n a pure stock and work your way up......talkin bout makin some money...the dirt sim world is huge for rfactor...if i racing had dirt racing it would be BIG

  • The big hurdle for me is that I'm more into touring cars, like the group N style cars in the WTCC, or GT3 class sports cars. Are you guys going to be expanding to that any? Maybe something Grand-Am based since you guys focus more on US autosports.

  • Most players and developers don't know what a racing simulation is. They believe a game is easy and a sim is hard. Nothing could be farther from the truth. A sim means it simulates the real thing whether it is easy or hard. If you look at the in-car camera's of modern nascar racing the drivers hardly move their hands at all especially for the drivers up front. The advanced springs, chassics, and shocks have taken the sawing the wheel out of it like back in the 1950-1989 era.

  • We've all seen the same car both be smooth and require a lot of steering input in the same race - in real life. The level of wheel input is very much related to the car setup, more than the car or indeed the simulation software itself.

    If a car goes sour, you're going to have to wheel it a lot more than if it didn't.

  • Kaemer got it right with nascar racing1 & nascar racing 3 physics model. The current physics model is harder and not realistic to real life. You want to make money off this? Have 1000 servers for races at TALLADEGA & DAYTONA EVERY DAY 24/7! Thats the money maker. Whole race seasons on those two tracks only. Thats what the masses would buy. Forcing road courses, lousy ovals, solices, dirt, sport cars, & a millions set up options wont ever cut it. TALLADEGA fixed set-up leagues with JR OK.

    Most iRacing members do not seem to want what you are asking for.

    With regards the physics, we tend to believe that having had feedback from tens of real drivers allows us to be fairly confident on it's realism. With NASCAR 1 through 3, there were some inaccuracies that mean it's pretty difficult to agree with you on iRacing's physics also.

  • It's a good thing this project has the financial backing of a billionaire so that it doesn't have to make a profit. You may ultimately make a profit but i believe you would do MUCH better with my suggestions above. It would be interesting to know if my tracks are your most profitable downloads haha! I raced along time online and those were always the most crowded. One other thing. Don't let the ram cheaters take over. Cheaters breaking code will RUIN it. Best of luck iRacingTV.

  • You have to pay 156$ per year+15$ for every track and mod I would get it if I had the money but I don't lol. But yeah your right Ea games have a lot of glitches and not very realistic.

  • for those who raced papyrus products over the years you will be amazed at the quality and realism of iracing, come join us

  • and remember iracing is not just about nascar racing.. we have lots of other series available SCCA type racing, as well as Mazda, Daytona prototypes, radicals, all great road racing series, with many more coming just around the bend. for those into league racing.. that is also in development now. most awesome sim racing available to the public.. and yes the real drivers do race here.. i just recently raced this past week with earnhardt jr at martinsville, and many others in the past, join us

  • Computer Sim Racing is a whole different thing from Arcade Console Games. PC's is the place to be for realistic racing simulation.

  • It's NR2003 on steroids!!

  • NR2003 was used as very early testing platform, but I haven't seen anyone actually pointing out something that relates to NR2003.

    Also, oval racing is just one aspect of iRacing. There's already wide variety of road courses and cars to run, all the way from Pontiac Solstice to Riley Daytona Prototype. Many road racers are already excited about recently announced Ford GT and Mustang.
