  • thais believe if you dont go back to see this teacher every year you will go crazy.

  • My dad told me he can read everything on that Thai guys back! Khmers tatoo is more sacred! Thai's tat are fake and have no meaning and history! Too young!

  • Wow awesome that English guy get ajran noo tattoo!!! So envy ...... He is so famous in Thailand.

  • why does it even say thai here, the photo of angelina jolie gettin her tottoo done was done in cambodia... quite obvious really coz maddox is cambodian, has nothing to do with thailand

  • thais may have made it cool but still cant do it better then khmers COS WE MADE learn some history who taught thai magic we did dnt think u can do it better with ur fake copy shit

  • SO that was where Angelina Jolie got her tattoo??? thats nuts!

  • Okay, I'm getting annoyed by people on here saying "NO it's not thai sak yant, but thai copy from khmer." It's not a matter of whose the sak yant belong to. PLUS the writing is called "Pa Sa Tum" It may look like khmer writing, but "Pa Sa Tum" is another language that only the buddahs themselves could read it or the ones that learn the language. Usually the ones that likes to play with black magic knows pa sa tum. Take the sak yant to a regular khmer to read it..I don't think they can read it.

  • @Rainbow99fall It doesn't take a genius to compare the Sak Yant writing to modern Khmer characters. You will find the exact same characters that are in Sak Yant. It is based on Angkor warriors and empire wearing it for protection . The text is ancient and old but it has always been Khmer astrology from it's influential characters.

  • hello....thaiportal, how can i get my sak yant done by the Ajhan Noo Kanpai himself ?

  • @Charlotte6513 I am not sure, but I guess he will only do famous people. He will however bless your yants.

  • ...I probably won't get one lol.

I'm afraid the growing popularity or commercialization of this will make the art lose it's ancient sacredness and now it becomes more about aesthetics or fashion statement.

U have to get it from the right person & for the right reason.

  • Sak yant/yun is khmer in origin but Cambodia got stuck in decades of war and Thais practice and promote the arts as Thais just like muythai and dances and other ancient arts thais put on the label as thais.

  • yes u are correct.. thai not only copy khmer sak yant. but also khmer writing, and khmer numbers on thai baht and thai king face. and khmer traditional instruement, and khmer dance and angkor statue on thai products etc... Khmer are proud to admit that our culture is heavily influened by india... but many thais deny that they are influenced form khmer,, ,, even after seeing khmer had Angkor empire long time before thai people even exist in SE asia.. khmer had the this culture long before

  • @wanaen that is khmer tattoo you people are stupid if you call it thai.. thai copy all khmer culture

  • @llHyRaXll who want to copy all your shit culture, sorry to be rude but you made fun of our King picture. There have been many Cambodian prostitutes and illegal labour in Thailand and these groups of people commit crimes here (e. g. steal a purse from traveler : like gypsies in Italy, thieving, etc.) and act like they're Thai. I guess you should be proud of your culture and people now.

  • @wanaen who want to copy our shit? or khmer culture? well obviously you thai want to copy.. in fact you already did 55555

  • @llHyRaXll At least we don't have the leader that kill millions people 5555. Good for you, anyway. Is that your culture, too?

  • @wanaen thai culture is all copied from khmer..proof is khmer number all over thai money and thai king face

  • @llHyRaXll really? we have our own culture, it's not strange that some regions influence by khmer because it's khmer empire before. And we don't use khmer number in real life, only on banknotes and it's a mistake!

  • @wanaen yes really...thai influience all from khmer...as long as you admit it..i dont care..jsut dont lie and say you create it yerself..by teh way i admit khmer was influenced from hindu culture

  • @llHyRaXll be careful of the word "all", that's it.

  • @wanaen ok thai didnt copy ALL khmer culture but they copied very very much

  • @IHyRaXI

idiot! Pali and Sanskrit Roots of Thai Words.

i read all of your comment that show how you envy Thais.

open your eyes and open you mind

  • @usakhru yea I am sure its of khmer origin but the thais made it cool LoL ~ just like muay thai is cooler and widely accepted rather than bokator ~ so until Cambodia opens up as a country and establishes itself ur arts will remain uncovered while the Thais have ran far ahead of you guys ~

  • @usakhru is the period before the Buddhist era. As hundreds of thousands of years. Considered the magic that they Rishis (Hindu, Buddhist hermit). is because khmer jealous? lol

  • i want a magic tattoo.

my dad has one from back in the day around the war time..crazy how it works.

  • thank you for the address, been looking for it so long!

  • did u get it done by any chance??

    :]

  • Lol dont ever diss another county. Karma my friend karma.

  • Very nice looking tattoo

  • wow angelina jolie do her tatto in thai. awesome.

  • its khmer you dumb fuck.. why have khmer numbers on all thai baht and thai king face?

  • How or why is it called thai tattoo when it is written and symbolically Khmer?

  • cuz thai ppl do it and khmer always jealous.....

  • Khmer always jealous? Jealous about what? Khmer angkor wat is the best thing that has happened for that region we have today such as Laos, Thai, and Cambodia. I love the art and culture of Angkor. Just trying to learn about the signifigance of khmer writing and its meanings.

  • thai love to copy angkor and use it on all ther food proudct and also khmer Churning sea of time in thai airport

  • how is Khmer jealous when Khmer ancestors made it? tie would be the one that is jealous since they don't have magic such as this in their "OWN" scripts. They have to use Khmer scripts. shame on you thighland lolololol

  • The tattoo is written in ancient Khmer because it would not work if it were to be in Thai lettering.

  • @marommay is not khmer, the symbol is called bali or yantra

  • @rkkgg If you take the time to look at the letters and writings and look at the Khmer alphabet you can clearly see the letters. I just want to learn about this mystical art. I am indifferent and just want to learn about the Angkorian people who wore these Tattoos with Khmer writing. The symbols are "yantra" but the origin and letters of it is Angkor Khmer.

  • i love thailand, hopefully going there in the summer!

  • Im going to Bangkok on wednesday and i want to get a khmer script on my back. How much you reckon i have to pay for the tattoo. Ive heard around 3000 baht. Also apart from Arjarn Noo, who and where can i find a good place to go

  • the blade cutting demo is a trick in my humble opinion. Notice how he use the end of the blade to show the sharpness on the guy leg then use the tip to cut the guy arm...

  • can someone tell me what the pain of a sak yant tattoo compares to a normal tattoo please?

  • the guys a bit doggy as far as im concerned, theres been tlk for years that he aint even a proper monk!...and of course since tatooing angelina jolie, he has allowed fame to somewhat go to his head and his prices are also crazy (in fairness the day i went he was not there and his brother who tatooes tried to charge me 20,000 baht for a small sak yant. Theres proper monks who will do sak yants on farrang for a small donation and some flowers and a pack or 2 of smokes.

  • It's all a matter of what it is worth to you! He doesn't keep the money for himself. What you pay is a donation to the temple.

These guys are not monks, they are a like a wiseman. That is why they wear white and not the traditional monk garment. I just got my Sak done last week and to me it was worth every penny!

  • Do you know of someone else in Thailand that does it for cheaper?

  • I want one of these tattoos, but how do they sanitize the needles. I hear there's a long line to wait for Ajarn Noo or one of his apprentices. Do they use the same needle stick the whole time?

  • That was my concern as well. They sanitize and use new needles. I just got two of them done 10/17/08. It was worth every penny and I love it!

  • i am planning to go to thailand. where is is this place can someone give me the info. I want get some tattoo.

  • I can make arrangements for you if you would like. My cousine has a taxi/limo service. She can make an appointment for you and pick you up from the airport and take you right there. I just got mine done last week. Be prepared to pay a lot of money if you want one done from Ajarn Noo Kanpai.

  • Hey any deciples of Ajhan noo.... what is his liniage, who was his master??

  • Two of his teachers were Luang Phor Tim and Luang Ta Khamen (Poot)

  • hello....thaiportal, how can i get my sak yant done by the Ajhan Noo Kanpai himself ? Its hard to contact him..? thanks

  • If you are famous or have a bag full of cash I am afraid...

  • I can have someone make an appointment for you! He is expensive! It is all a matter of what it is worth to you. I just got mine done last week. It is awesome!

  • i agree the writing is in Khom ( ancient Khmer) but the languade is Pali.

  • The writing is Khmer Sangkrit. Khmer wrote in Sangkrit with Khmer alphabet Aksar Moul (Round letters) because Khmer's ancestors were Indian-Khmer.

    Read me.

  • yea I am sure its of khmer origin but the thais made it cool LoL ~ just like muay thai is cooler and widely accepted rather than bokator ~ so until Cambodia opens up as a country and establishes itself ur arts will remain uncovered while the Thais have ran far ahead of you guys ~

  • it is khmer not pali. go look up pali it does not look like the tattoo.

  • is this real a real tattoo or just a paint?

  • yes the writing is done in Pali. And actually the price for farang is much more typically 20,000-60,000Baht.

  • where can i find this guy in thailand...???

  • Just read the comment and you'll find out.

  • GOOD STUFF is hard to give it to people.Sak yant Master have to trust you. they cant give it out just like that. I think its fake. just want to make money.Real one dont need to pay with money, but pay with respect and follow the rules.

  • I study and Learned about Sak Yant for long time and i know so much about it. Ajarn Noo giving people magical tattoos (Sak Yant) and it will protect people from shooting and stabbing,It wont break their skins.if he think he is so good and sure about that. he should keep it on the downlow, not show it to the world.

  • who was your master who did you study under?

  • A real master will not charge you for any sak. For it to be powerful the master must light seven incent to call upon the gods and ancestors of his families, his master and grandmaster and the ancestor of the recipient so that they will all protect him. At the same time the master must caste his spell while he sak you so it be more powerful. if you want something to protect you, chah is better than sak because it dont show only when someone try to harm you. it show all the magic spell in red.

  • And young Khmers like to have Sak Yant on silver card keeping in their wallets to protect themselves.

I've seen a beautiful Buddhist Sak Yant on a jacket and other image such as Hannuman, Naga, Tiger, Snake, Machha, Garuda etc...

  • Oh yeah...not only that...

I heard Khmer girls wearing Katha belt and they had to show to the airport security first because Katha belt are made from metal or silver that make sound when they pass the xray. lol

  • Sak Yant can be found hanging on the roof of every pagoda in Cambodia and in Thailand.

Also in Khmer tradition, before building a new house, Khmer must have Sak Yant hanging on the roof before building a house.

  • Sank Yant can be made on human being body or on anything you love which you can carry with you to protect yourself.

In Cambodia, a part of having Sak Yant on body, Khmer men like to have Sak Yant on handkerchief and on knifes.

Khmer women like to have Sak Yant on their golden belt to wear on their Sampot.

  • Sak Yant is written in Khmer sacred language; it's called "Khmer Aksar Moul" mean Khmer round lettering with geometric symbolic. Khmer created Sak Yant with Khmer round style letter and combined with geometric symbolic. Khmer also built the stone temple with Khmer numeral geometric.

  • Sak Yant is Khmer Sanskrit.

    Sak means tattoos

    Yant means magic

Khmer King Jayavarman VII had Sak Yant of "Iron Fleche" on his body. The King can't be cut, can't be burned and can't be hurt.

  • the tattoo is done in khmer scripts. thai adapted this ancient magic art from the khmer. once you get this ancient khmer tattoo there are rules you have to follow for it to work.some tattoo can give you a third eye(see spirits and demons)

  • also women aren't supposed to have an ink made yant. they get it done with palm oil, which is transparent.

  • the language it is written in is Pali. It originates from India. It is best known as the language of the earliest extant Buddhist. I have a yant tattoo. It was done by a monk in a temple where I resided for 5 days. You don't pay for a yent. You can give a donation.

  • did the tattoo write in khmer letter? bec it look like it.

  • Yes, it's called Khmer Aksar Moul mean Khmer round lettering with sacred geometric symbolic. Not Ancient Khmer like Thai called.

  • I'm going to Thailand this winter to take a sak-yant tatto, the one you got there in the video (the one Angelina Jolie has). What is the adress? And do you know how much it costs for that tattoo?

  • The contact details are at the end of the video! A.Noo now only does oil tattoo's, if you want him to do an ink tattoo it will be expensive, I know a Thai girl who paid 60,000 Baht for her tattoo of A.Noo. The guy in giving the tattoo in the pic (ครูไข่) is A.Noos younger brother

  • Cost for the 5 lines of text, like Angelina Jolie has is 3,000Baht depending on the mood of the guy collecting money. Though most Thai women have it done alot smaller then Angelina Jolie

  • 10.000 - 15.000 baht, how much is it in USD? About 500 $?

  • Divide by about 50 . That will give you an idea

  • Better: Check the current exchange rate for Baht and divide by that........

  • The golden rules are:

    - Respect your parents, specially your mother

    - Don't cheat on your girlfriend/wife

    - Dont do or deal hard drugs

If you break those rules the magic disappears or worst, you will get bad karma. An avergae tattoo will cost you between 10.000 - 15.000 baht, that's not cheap. Arjan Noo is a highly respected artist and donates a part of his income to charity. Only if you're famous he will tattoo you personally.

  • Can you answer me where can I contact Master Arjan Noo to help me to creat a tattoo? I am a Buddhist. I really want to have one of those tattoo. There are serveral locations in Malaysia and Thailand that the Master owns, but I don't know which location that he will be there at most of the time. I am from Malaysia, i have never heard about Master Arjan Noo before. It doesn't means I have no respect at the master and Buddhist.

  • Here the address: 95/5 MOO.1 Tumbol Bangkayang

    Ampur Muang Patumtani Thailand 12000

    Tel.0-2975-2799 Mobile. 0-1363-1252 , 0-9144-9456

  • He believe passing or inking it to someone, require a person w/ moral, patients, & caring for others. Therefore he did not pass it to anyone even till his death.

  • Just one question, I don't have Yant or tattoo, but I was called Sieng, Now I'm called Thit, because I'm out of the Monk hood. For some people who does not know, Yant has nothing to do w/ Buddhist or Temple. I do know that people w/ Yant has many rules to follow, I'm curious not out of dis respect, but can foreigner follow it. My great grandfather did not pass his way of yant down to anyone in the family.

  • Dear alphalocity,

Thanks for your comment. I am a foreigner ans also Buddhist. I understand and follow the rules. There are three Golden rules and one Kata I have to repeat three times a week. I have studied Sak Yant before I went to Arjan Noo and knew my responsibilities. I never regret the tattoos and am very proud to have them. If you want more information, just let me know.

  • That's great that u respect and follow the rules. I also respect a person like urself who takes thing to the heart. I've seen some who didn't take it seriously and end up not too good. I wonder if Angelina Jolie takes it the same way u do? well thanks for the replay.

  • Yes Angelina did bamboo on her tattoo!

  • love to know more as I love thailand and have just came back from there, i would dearly love to follow this and ger a tattoo as i am very spiritual and respect the buddish way of life.I will be in bangkok again in 6months time.thankyou pinot12

  • where do i check for the thailand tattoo prices? how much it costs for an tattoo that looks like the triangle and the letters? what does that mean?

  • dude doesn't that hurt?

  • wat does all that mean.

  • Khop khun mak maak. Ajhan noo does indeed have strong Yant magic. good video.
