  • I feel REALLY bad for the people with very little on. Like the princesses.

    RIP

    For some disney costumes...

  • And not a fuck was given

  • This was during Faye(which was a hurrican / tropical storm ) . It was fun to work not haveing to worry about people trying to run in front of the floats when we told them they couldn't cross the street (please don't do that we tell you these things for your safty not to ruin your fun) and trust me we have pulled off parades in worse then that .

  • wow Mickey doesn't care about the rain... he better get dried otherwise he gets sick

  • The people under the costume, must be thinking" WHY THE HELL ARE WE STILL DOING THIS, IT PISSING DOWN WITH RAIN"

  • beware headphone users

  • wow......all the wigs, dresses and costumes...wow...sucks

  • you mean this was an actual huricane, not a tropical storm, or a regular thunderstorm? Why did they decide to have the parade during the huricane? What catagory huricane was it?

  • this was amazing ! the cast did a great job!

  • I was in the Florida Keys when Hurricane Fay struck. It really wasn't as bad as predicted. But you gotta give credit to Disney to pull through the storm.

  • disney world, the greatest place on earth, and there is a little kid screaming at the top of his lungs. : /

  • the cast members are amazing we go at the end of november every year

  • you mean "TROPICAL STORM FAY"....i remember the flooding it did in central florida when i was still living there. :P

  • They should store emergency umbrellas on the floats. lol

  • they aint faking

  • lol tweedle splashing in the puddle ftw :)

  • well if anything goes totally wrong they are in their safe in their costumes

  • BTW, Fay was never a hurricane; it was just a tropical storm with 70 mph winds and an eye (yes, Fay did have an eye).

  • Sorry, I don't mean to rain on your parade xd

  • we are never scared in Florida

  • goes to show that disney really love what they do and will keep doing it

  • The gays want their parade!!!!!

  • looks like the its funner in the rain for the performers :P

  • You see, this is why you gotta praise Disney for their amazing effort! You don't see six flags doin this in hurricane conditions! Those cast members should have gotten a bonus that day! Thank you to all the cast members for keeping the magic alive!

  • Pretty senseless man

  • I didnt know Disney World was a waterpark :]

  • @ikramofir actually they have 2 LOL Blizzard Beach & Typhoon Lagoon

  • @thegoof529 Thanks for info! :]

  • This shouldnt have happened i honestly dont know why they still continued the parade because last time i went they cancelled the parade bc of a drizzle

  • Their Robots

  • AWWW poor people!

  • That must suck for the people in costume!!!

  • 1:16 tigger is like, I'm out of here -___-

  • why not cancel the parade when its hurricane

  • @Frickis they where doing the parade when the rain came

  • there singing in the rain gg

  • lol this is saddd employee treatment lol

  • How insanr a parade goes on at magic kingdom

  • Maybe Walt had a point with the whole rain-shield Epicot bubble thing.

  • wow all the costume are gonna be soggy now

  • I'll bet you 100 dollars that Cruella did not like the rain ruining her fur coat.

  • The costumes must had been soked!

  • mickey musy hate his life now ROFL

  • Surprised, to see a parade in that type of weather

  • Well done all for doing so well!! But it does make you think, they stop shows due to slight rain or windy conditions, yet will put cast members through a hurricane?? Dispite it starting after the parade had started, surely they would have known it may affect the park and should of taken more precautions? But very well done to all involved - great to watch how they are under such conditions!

  • All those who vote not to go out signify by saying I resign.

  • The Pirates seem to be enjoying themselfs :D

  • Okay... I was actually over at Studios the day that Fay blew threw. It poured from like 10 am onward. Who at Magic Kingdom thought THIS was a good idea? Because I want to shake their hand! This is honestly one of the best things I have ever seen! I love how Wendy is just like, twirling in the rain. This had to be like the best day at work. Just getting to go out there and smile while romping through puddles...

  • please can you tell me in which year was this? is rlly important 4 me n my mom, bcause i think i saw myself walking with my dad, who r.i.p.

  • @natalarrea Well it says it was during Hurricane Fay which happened in 2008. I was working that day. lol

  • @natalarrea 2008.

  • How much parades do you see run through a hurricane? Proves the quote No One Does It Like Disney...

  • Tropical Storm Fay Sucked. I had to go to school during on this day and they kept us off the ok days. Thanks

  • I bet you the guys on the floast wished that Disney had kept the snowglobe portions. lol

  • 1:11 Piglet and Tigger were like "Fuck this" lol

This is really depressing looking--between the whopping 13 or so people watching, the overly chipper music blaring, and the cast members trying to stay in character while obviously miserable, it's definitely a surreal, sad sight.

  • The magic of Disney must go on! I was at Epcot just about 4 months ago and we had to leave because it was raining hard but nothing like this! God Bless the people that stayed during the hurricanes! I whent through Fay in my own home and it was pretty bad! With out power for a whole week! But Disney has their own power plant RIGHT behind Magic Kingdom! (I know that because some of my family works at disney) The longest Disney EVER whent without power was 3 hours! Great video! God Bless!

  • In video 2 I noticed the floats were moving faster than normal (I'm sure it's to get the float characters out of the rain faster) (Mary Poppins should've used her umbrella like jiminy did

  • @LegoGuyProduction it could also be the winds pushing the floats since the winds are moving in the same direction as the parade.

heavier floats probably put up more resistance than lighter ones.

im suprised people went to disney world on a day like that.

  • thats great! they still had the parade even though it was raining! The show must go on

  • No that is not "dedication", that is Disney putting its customers and employees in danger. Tropical Storm Fay was nearly a hurricane with wind speeds of 70 mph (110 km/h) and devastating thunderstorms, and torrential downpours. It killed 13 people directly and 23 indirect, hydrometeorologically it was as bad as it gets. If Disney truly cared they would have shut down the park.

On a side note, I am glad you guys had fun! Its not your fault Disney doesn't follow proper safety standards.

  • Disney follows a very strict set of safety guide lines. They made sure the characters did not do the entire dance they were supposed to on the floats and the streets and if the characters felt in trouble they brought them inside out of the parade. Even though they should not have even started the parade it it was about to rain like that, once the floats are out they cant just turn them around and head back inside and it would be more dangerous to try and get those characters off the floats.

  • wow that is dedication. Disney really cares about the guests thats why i really like about disney

  • that is dedication !!!!

  • when was this taped? Because now when it rains they have a "rainy day parade"

  • that would be so fun to be there!

  • i dont think the saying "dont rain on my parade" occurs here :)

  • sweet! that looks so fun to watch nd the characters didnt change anything nd the floats r moving extra fast lol

  • i bet teh charaters were like, fuck it's raining outside, i hate my job

  • @jackjackthebomb more like

*pelted with heavy rain* "FUCK MY LIFE"

  • it's amazing how they acted like it was NOT raining! they did exactly what they were supposed to do when it wasn't! and not heading for shelter and for those who did the parts without full suit didn't even put on a poncho! :O

  • @funspot101 thats Disney Professional

dont matter to them as long as the show goes on and "magic" is made

  • That must have ruined the fur characters

  • Where mickey was waving in the air in the thingy watch a lighting stuck him rofl XD

  • I was there on that day xD

  • This is why they now pre tape the Walt Disney Merry Christmas Day parade! for years it was broadcast live, but the good people at Disney do not want you to ever see it rain there! SMART? OH YES!

  • Good for Disney for going on.

If only it wasn't a hurricane and the crowds were like that...

  • I give them best for continuing on and trying to make the best (ie one of the Tweedles playing in a puddle) etc.

  • ppl who actually went to disney during a hurricane in the first place r idiots

  • they were watching the parade and it started to rain. no one would actually go into the magic kingdom while its raining

  • you must not like disney i suppose

  • lol, the show must go on! xD

  • i love tweedle dee(or dumm) is playing in the puddle, at :54-:60 its so cute!

  • This happen again yesterday at the magic kingdom.

  • Kudos to the cast members for doing a wonderful job in such wet conditions!

  • lolz! fay didnt stop anyone!!! GO MICKEY!!!!

  • I was at MK this day. Poncho was hardly off me that fortnight.

  • a fortnight is two weeks... haha.

  • My holiday was a fortnight, smart arse.

  • ok. :D pardon. admit you must though, that is quite the lengthy trip.

  • Actually, i saw the parde this day. it was not during a hurricane, it was tropical storm fay and it was just happening to rain when the parade started. The rain only lasted a while, not like it was all all day downpour. Jees!

  • BUT WHY ?????????????????

  • And I thought the weather was bad when we went to the Pirate and Princess Party. It poured nonstop but not like this.

  • lol omg that's all. I feel the worst for Piglet...cause he hates storms....

  • who are those disney people crazy!?i mean, what park would have a parade during a hurricane?

  • Comment removed

  • They should be thankful those floats didn't stall

  • Why wouldn't they just cancel the parade rather then loosing money in trying to repair wet costumes etc

  • Comment removed

  • 2:22 twirling wendy :D!!!!! wow...i love how all the characters did what they could and it kinda looked like......the hurricane didnt affect them at all....kudos to disney performers doing their job!!!

  • Oh dear. The poor characters they would of been drenched to the bone, at least they remained in good spirit. I can't believe they still carried on.

  • That can't possibly be good for some of those costumes!

  • i feel sorry for the people in the costumes, that must have ben horrible, walking around in soaking wet costumes!

  • I feel more sorry for the tourists!

  • wow, im surprised they ran the parade usually in disney if its drizzling theyll cancel something, but they did a good job

  • hahaha omg...I would hate to be the cast members who had to deal with what to do when a hurricane hits once the parade already started!

  • Oh god I feel so bad for them, espiecally the Fuzzies,[and Curelella, her fur coat! D:] they must of weighed a ton after that. but Brava! for everyone styicking it out and doing the parade!

  • 0:59 was adorable, one of the Tweedle brothers was playing in the puddle!

  • Whether they had no choice to continue the parade or not, those cast members are still awesome for giving it their all. I would've run for cover so fast!

  • Man, I was at WDW throughout the whole time Fay was striking. It took me three tries to get into Fantasmic thanks to her. :P

  • Yup, thats Disney for ya, I'm one of the Photopass photographers and was actually in character photography training at Toontown during this, I had no clue the parade went on. Wish I'd seen it.

  • I'm actually a Main Street cast member and I was in townsquare for this parade, right infront of the Emporium. Believe me when I say this was the best parade I've ever worked! Not to mention the scariest! But with the team we have everyone worked together and got the job done safely!!!

  • I wonder what snow white looks like with all her makeup down her face. You think goofy smelled like wet dog?

  • I feel sorry for the cast members who had to do that, but I think it's just wonderful they still went through with the parade! I'm sure all the kids adored it even during the hurricane! I know I would've. =D

  • I applaud those cast members!

  • Snow White was defiantly the toughest princess that day. LOL

  • I was in WDW at the time this was took, I must of been either checking in All Star Movies or in Hollywood Studios.

HSM got cancelled for one performance (Thank god) and Fantasmic did as well.

  • I hope Snow White's make-up was water proof! That's amazing that they kept up the enthusiasm. I guess the fully costumed characters were lucky by comparison? I may be wrong about that if they got soaked through.

  • I was there for this!

We were actually on our way out. We were walking past the candy store on Main Street, and the wind REALLY started to pick up all of a sudden. We looked over and saw that the parade had started about two seconds before. It was our last day, so we had to get to the airport, but we SO wish we could have stayed for this! Anyway, we were at the monorail station by about the time this video was taken, and the wind was even worse up there because of the higher altitude.

  • And I forgot to mention, kudos to those cast members for sticking it out! That could not have been a very comfortable or even safe situation and they stuck it out. Great job!

  • Well they only ran the parade because the rain didn't start until after they sent it out. So they had to finish it out.

  • I love the Tweedle kicking around in the puddle though. That's hysterical, haha. :~)

  • I can't believe they even allowed that to go out. That's CRAZY!!!!

  • ROFL!!!! ME AND MY FAMLIY WHERE GONNA GO ON THAT DAY!! ( i live 30 mins away from disney in FL by car ) my dad was picking about goign!! LOLZ LOLZ LOLZ!!

  • they probably bought advance tickets and got screwed

  • ?

    nmn

  • they probably bought the tickets in advance and got screwed

  • Give me a break..what people will do! Who in their right minds would waste time & money in an amusement park during the height of a tropical storm (not a hurricane), with pouring rain? Only the crazies would..shut the park down for pete's sake! DUMB!

  • shut up

  • You shut up. Your probably one of the nutcases he's refering to.

  • i wont shut up i live the UK and buy the tickets in advance so im not going to go all that way for nothin just because its raining. you all need to grow up

  • Your darn right we would. Makes it a heck of a lot more fun, not to mention less lines means more ride time. Being a crazy rules!

  • Well, call me crazy, but I'm an Annual Passholder, and it's worth every penny. You have to know what it's like to be a Disney World freak before you judge us.

  • Rain in the best time to go to a Disney Theme Park! Who cares about getting wet! No corwds, no lines, but I guess you need to be a Disney nut to really appreciate the rain..
