Eartha has been a part of my life - she has always been there. Having seen her many performances in London and met her many times she has a special place in my heart. Sadly missed but happy to have the memories.
I was working at Tower Records at the time, and the vocal/soundtrack buyer had free tickets to see Eartha at one of the Ritzy hotels(Can't remember which one now)...well, Eartha sang to each member of the audience as if she were only singing to them. Another one of a kind of lady that brings so much to the music that she sang; an immortal songtress who will live on through the ages! Ty for the post:)
You WILL be missed! I've been adoring you since i first heard you on vinyl when i was 17. You will always be one of the most interesting, sensational and touching artists I have ever listened to. tough and tender, playful or heartbroken, you were able to pull it all off, and elevate some classic songs to whole new levels. Rest in Peace, and I will see you again. Love You so much.
eartha kitt was an inspiration in my life. she in her own way brought life in me when i was down and out.she inspired me to bring out my talents and motivated me to face anything and anyone that stood in my way.she will truly be missed.rest in peace eartha and heres to life grrrrrrrrrr.
A magnificent light has gone dim tonight... what a loss! This is my absolute favorite of her countless songs. She closed every show with it... looking right into my eyes when I was lucky enough to be front row at Blues Alley in Washington, D.C. We will miss you, Miss Kitt!
She performed for an entire week at Variety Playhouse in Atlanta back in '89. What an incredible show...so full of fire and music! I would love to see her again.
wow! I remember watching this when it originally aired. I fell in love with that performance, and looked for it often. This is the first time I've seen it since then! LOL
Here's to life, here's to love, and here's to you ;-)

You loved her or you didn't get it!
She was a true lady , discrete and talented . I was a fan, sadly I never got to know her. The joy of my life is named after her, my cat Eartha.
May almighty God bless this soul of this women for all she has been through and the brave face she placed on it.
Please buy her recordings and help others to know of her work
