George learned to play slide guitar when Clapton challenged him since they always had a friendly rivarly that they both wanted to be the best guitarist- and I think in the end after playing together so long they both learned alot and both are/were amazing guitarists

I know some of the live footage is from The Concert For Bangladesh and some is from the 1974 Japan tour. As for the acoustic bits of him actually singing this song, I have seen the full version, here I think. Today show maybe?

All I can recall about that is George raced (semi) professionally in the mid 70s I think. As I recall he had even considered given up music for a racing career. I'll check with my brother a much bigger Beatles fan than I, and clarify. I'll get back to you if I learn anything.

He loved amateur racing and was actually one of the only people to ever purchase the McLaren F1. He owned a pretty extensive collection of race cars and sponsored a handful of drivers. In addition, he wrote the song 'Faster' about two of his favorite drivers. What a guy :)

I think George was always cool. I like that grin of his :) That's George in a nutshell. He didn't know where he was going, so he picked a road. He found himself with God in the end and I think he was satisfied with his road. Wouldn't you agree?
