out of all the damage ike has done to this area the pier is what hit me the most, i loved fishing on that pier, hell sometimes it was better than going out in a boat because you did not have to prepare and prep a boat, all you did was go out fish and when you were ready you just left. At least not all hope is lost jefferson county just approved the reconstruction of the pier so probably around 2025 it will be finished.
I love the pier, too. Soon the new causeway will be complete; but why do you suppose the pier would take until 2025 to finish? Is that a government estimate?
