12:44 are you having a fuckin laugh? whatever happened to the forgotten art of RAW lifting? at the olympics, do you see them putting on clean and jerk suits? NO.
if you think RAW lifting lifting is a forgotten art, you are just plain ignorant. equipped lifting is a part of powerlifting. if you want to watch olympic lifting, then do it. no one's forcing you to watch and comment here.
i am not ignorant. ipf and wpc are the 2 biggies in powerlifting and both are equipped. raw feds are a joke. they probably have less than 100 spectators in the nationals.
and maybe i dont want to watch oly lifting. i mean, atm it is a far more credible strength sport and i love to watch it, but id also like to see raw powerlifting done properly. dont ry and tell me that raw lifting is thriving because it isnt, how often do you here about raw records being broken or big raw meets. rarely.
powerlifting = fat asses, gears and suits, the fake lifts, penguins, 3-4 spotters, any average gym goer/football player can compete in with simple technique adjustments to whatever shitty form they already have, heavy metal music in the background, average commercial gym bodybuilders/joes screaming "lightweight"
i see that a lot, and it's degrading to the sport, but it's a pretty broad generalization to make. i'm a highschool powerlifter, and it's a completely different atmosphere in the HS level. and i do a lot of olympic lifting to train for powerlifting, so i definitely can appreciate both points of view.i think the IPF is the best equipped organization for powerlifting, because of the professional atmosphere.

olympic lifting = raw strength, speed, explosion, power, precision, technique, concentration, athleticism,
powerlifting = fat asses, gears and suits, the fake lifts, penguins, 3-4 spotters, any average gym goer/football player can compete in with simple technique adjustments to whatever shitty form they already have, heavy metal music in the background, average commercial gym bodybuilders/joes screaming "lightweight"
olympic lifting = respectful crowd, honor, tradition
