He wasnt a real champion, but he was very advanced in boxers' training and weightlifting, so he was a big part in helping them. They needed a guy like him to be around, he and Sugar Ray made a great team.

THere are commissioning bodies, but title shots are determined by an MMA company and not commissioning bodies. Season 1 was awesome, went down hill from there... to the point where they Had Tony Danza hosting it I saw, LMAO... Anyway Alphonso is awesome... the legend killer, ended the careers of Gatti (RIP) and Jose Louis Castillo... he fought Cotto too early, other than that he is doing very well advancing his career.

It's the way to attract people who don't know boxing, to boxing. A guy gets hit on the chin with a big shot while he's coming in, don't be suprised if the fuckin' music changes.

Every time I hear this song, I think of Najai's suicide, and just how tragic it was...he promised himself he would win and he failed...and he gave himself the ultimate penalty....tournaments like this are great things....but when they're televised nationally, there's no telling what someone will do when they lose......

Oh man you cant compare, Boxing is a HUGE sport compared to MMA, dont take me wrong im a MMA coach, but Boxing is a world wide olympic sport, with high level fighters in all the continents, is kind of hard to pick on this guys, most of them world class boxers. nothing and i mean nothing will ever top the 1st season, in my opinion, NBC lost there minds by dropping the contender because they had the most important audience you could ask for, Women. Any time my mom want to watch the show when it was on network tv and show dont like boxing, that shows you that it had a big impact. i think if they bought the family side of it back along with better fighters who has the looks,personality, and skills to draw viewers, they will be viable again
