Can a TVR fan please tell me if this is true. @ 1:56 I see a push rod V8. Is this still the engine used in current production vehicles? If so, you would have thought that in keeping with the modern super car advancements TVR would have upgraded to a modular OHC engine by now? I can only speculate that they may be continuing this family of engines for its notoriously large torque numbers, or perhaps, they have proven themselves to be good engines and they are afraid to change?

its the 5.0 ltr based on a rover v8 i think - a proven engine

i thought they made their own engine and that it only came in a 4.2 and 4.5 version, then again the engine was kinda modified so he could've put a rover v8 in there.

@lolzoretwo THey used to use MODIFIED rover V8s up to 5ltr, the Cerbera had a TVR designed and made V8 that came in 4.2 or 4.5ltr variants, they used that engine as a race engine. The more modern TVR engines all feature the Speed Six engine, also TVR designed and made.

i dont know about the rest but this car was first built in '97 so i would immagine it to be kinda up to date back then, nowadays i believe they only use 6 cilinder engines that produce around 400 bhp as did that engine v8 engine when it was stock

RIP Poser. He was a real character and TVR through and through. I had a lot of time for him. When I got my first job as test driver I had to take him out to prove I could drive them properly. It was a LHD Tuscan S. We went up to Fleetwood and he said "I'll drive back." He then proceeded to frighten the life out of me. When we got back I asked him if I did ok. "A bit slow. Be more aggressive."

Well, well, well! This is sad. I worked for TVR for most of the 90's and it was poser that got me the job there. I know just as well as anybody poser could be a hard faced nonse, but by enlarge he had a good heart, shame about the other arseholes at the top of the chain. That being said i rise a glass to Dave, he'd like that being a good drinker.

This was actually re-named the Dave Cumming Memorial Weekend, in memory of Dave - he was the Test Driver and General Manager for over 30 years and my Dad. The rumble on the Sunday was in his memory and the money raised from the charity auction went to the Roy Castle Lung Cancer charity.
