I didn't see that thing as a cocoon at all to be honest. It was in the shape of a wrapper and they were pink and green when they came out, and their arms stretched like hand pulled taffy, so I'm guessing it's a reference to the taffy bowl at the beginning = |

Well i read the book and the one thing that i find most interesting is that the other Spink and Forcible were in a cocoon in the back of the stage. Why were they in a cocoon and what were they transforming into? I wish the author included that.

@roxman132 agreed. havent read the book but the cocoon seemed random. like, Mr. Bobinsky's transformation made sense; rats were part of his character but the cocoon didnt seem to fit in with the actresses.

Not only do these ladies look like two english teachers at my school, but the quote they recite on the trapeze (although technically, those are the other Spink and Forcible) is the exact one recited to me by one of them at school today. Creepy :|

That would explain why your English teacher would have said that to you; Shakespeare is an essential part of the English curriculum.
