Spurge, surge, listen, we're all adults here, it doesn't matter what you call it. The story is until "it" started, the Shiite Militia in Baghdad were slaughtering hundreds of Sunnis a month, and taking over

The only 2 people making sense in that whole clip are Ayad Allawi and Andrew Sullivan. Sullivans last comments are getting at the core of the problem: Oil Empire

It's not a military crackdown. That's the beauty of the Petraeus strategy--it's a cutting up of the Iraqi pie among the three principal tribes--Sunni, Shiite and Kurd!! Up until now, everyone had wrongly branded the Sunnis as the enemy. In these last 6 months, since he put his surge into place, Petraeus has merely given the Sunnis the wherewithal to step up to the table and take what's theirs.
Here's the story. General Petraeus, the Hero of Iraq, had the genius to arm the Sunnis so they could defend themselves against the marauding Iranian backed Shiite Militias, who were trying to hand Iraq over to the Ayatollas in Iran. Thanks to Petraeus' brilliance, the Sunnis are holding their own neighborhoods in Baghdad as well as their historic lands in the rest of the country from encroaching Shiite despotism.
I really detest Mccain trotting out a cherry-picked statement by 'some' troops - "let us continue our mission" - as if that's the view of the whole military.
The military (of which I was a member for 11 year) is not some monolithic likeminded group. Their views are as diverse as the US population's in general. And you can bet plenty have given Mccain opposite reports. But he'll never mention those. Very deceptive!
but i have been pissed off since March 13, 2003 when the bombing started in Iraq. That is 4 years and 8 months that we have been commiting murder on innocent people who are just as pissed off at the Neo-Cons as i am.
The political progress is tied to privatization of the oil industry. The Iraqi people will never approve of that. So why won't the administration admit that and change course now?
Nuthtin like a good old fashion ethnic cleansing......Why is Allawi in Jordan?...... Great ...! All is quiet on the western front now lets get the fuck OUT!!
maybe the violence in iraq is going down because the population has decreased. there's probably nobody left to kill, unfortunately. we don't even know how many casualties there are total. How are we getting these "decreasing" numbers? What's the source?
Give the leaders some field weapons and then let them go in there and "make some progress"! Best not let them out until they are fairly well progressed. That would work. That would be progress. Starting with Lindsay Graham. Then the rest of the Republican candidates. Not forgetting Bush and Cheney. I bet Colin Powell could could absorb a pretty good IED. Next time they commit a false flag accident they could be at ground zero.
Lindsay Ghraham is a f-ing moron. He says one thing after another that are demonstrably false. Best counter insurgency ever? Better than the Romans? Better than Vlad Tepez's counter-insurgency? BETTER THAN THE RUSSIANS HOLDING THEIR SOVIET EMPIRE TOGETHER FOR 50 YEARS? Wow - Also I love how McCain puts words in the soldiers' mouths despite things I've heard from American servicemen and articles like "The War as We Saw It"
Of course Democrats want a win in Iraq. If it wasn't for the Democrats putting pressure on the Republicans during this last election, we wouldn't have had this small success.
Republicans would like re-envision history and have us not think about their war in Iraq as one based on lies, war profits and on the backs of regular American men and women. You won't see Mitt Romney's or George Bush's kids fighting out there.
Excellent point. And I have news for the disillusioned people who keep buying the bulls**t that Bush, Rush and the rest are feeding them; The are Democrats fighting and dying in Iraq too.
Bet there are more veterans who are democrats holding office than Repugs. In Vietnam, when we had a draft at least the great majority I served with were democrats. Need to do some fact checking on this one friend.
All 3 are sad excuses for human beings right about now.
Kerry was drafted into the Army, but joined the Navy hoping to avoid ground combat. Then volunteered to serve on an off shore Navy vessel but was picked to serve on swift boats, where he served himself as best he could. Sad case, Mr. Kerry.
Writes DevBlazed, "We did deserve 911." That's the stupidest thing I've heard since Bush last opened his mouth. How can you say that? Did you know anybody who died in the towers on that day? Did they 'deserve 911?' Maybe you think Osama is hero?
Without political reconciliation & millions of refugees unable to return home for fear of death due to further ethnic cleansing, any declaration of victory/success is nothing more than reckless propaganda. Curious how the lone Iraqi guest was so contradictory to all of Bush's water carriers--strike that, Bush's kool-aid carriers. And curious that after 7 years of Bush's foolhardy policies, oil is now about $100 a barrel. It seems Cheney's secret energy meetings were quite successful.
Veracifier is recapping the Sunday morning news shows here. Paul was not a subject of these programs; Iraq was. Don't blame the messenger, Veracifier. Blame the media which ignores and ridicules your candidate.
Do you know how many Generals and Admirals quit or lost their jobs, careers ruined because they said we had inadequate troops, or should never have disbanded the Iraqi "Guard"? maybe the violence in iraq is going down because the population has decreased. there's probably nobody left to kill, unfortunately. we don't even know how many casualties there are total. How are we getting these "decreasing" numbers? What's the source?
Drstrangelove17 4 years ago 3
Give the leaders some field weapons and then let them go in there and "make some progress"! Best not let them out until they are fairly well progressed. That would work. That would be progress. Starting with Lindsay Graham. Then the rest of the Republican candidates. Not forgetting Bush and Cheney. I bet Colin Powell could could absorb a pretty good IED. Next time they commit a false flag accident they could be at ground zero.
hypnofan35 4 years ago 2
Lindsay Ghraham is a f-ing moron. He says one thing after another that are demonstrably false. Best counter insurgency ever? Better than the Romans? Better than Vlad Tepez's counter-insurgency? BETTER THAN THE RUSSIANS HOLDING THEIR SOVIET EMPIRE TOGETHER FOR 50 YEARS? Wow - Also I love how McCain puts words in the soldiers' mouths despite things I've heard from American servicemen and articles like "The War as We Saw It"

I'm certainly glad deaths are down But when do we get to come home?
foley15136 4 years ago 3
Of course Democrats want a win in Iraq. If it wasn't for the Democrats putting pressure on the Republicans during this last election, we wouldn't have had this small success.
Republicans would like re-envision history and have us not think about their war in Iraq as one based on lies, war profits and on the backs of regular American men and women. You won't see Mitt Romney's or George Bush's kids fighting out there.
thereallurker 4 years ago 11
Excellent point. And I have news for the disillusioned people who keep buying the bulls**t that Bush, Rush and the rest are feeding them; The are Democrats fighting and dying in Iraq too.
foley15136 4 years ago 2
Not many libs in the military dude. Libs don't do combat.
Bwahahahahahahaha
TAMARLANE 4 years ago
Bet there are more veterans who are democrats holding office than Repugs. In Vietnam, when we had a draft at least the great majority I served with were democrats. Need to do some fact checking on this one friend.
blair227 4 years ago 2
WRONG! On both counts.
foley15136 4 years ago
Cryptic.
Wrong on both counts?
Care to elaborate?
Are you taking exception to the fact that I know many marines and sailors here in San Diego?
Are you suggesting that my son did not graduate from USNA in 1992?
Do you doubt that I served in the Navy during the Korean war?
TAMARLANE 4 years ago
Who taking exception to anyone's service?
Just because you know some Marines and Sailors doesn't mean they are not many liberals/Democrats in the service. And that they "don't do combat".
Why would I doubt that you served during Korea or your son's commission? Why the hell are you bringing that up? It has nothing to do with my reply.
foley15136 4 years ago
Your reply went something like "wrong, on both counts"
I was fishing. Looking for which counts you were taking exception to. Still don't know by the way.
TAMARLANE 4 years ago
Ok, let's break it down in to the two tiny pieces that they are.
1. There are many "libs" in the military.
2. We do, in fact, "do combat".
I said NOTHING about yours or your sons service.
foley15136 4 years ago
Not many libs in combat. Not true libs anyway.
If you consider yourself a lib, and if you have done combat, or served in any capacity, thank you very much.
You didn't find the vast majority of combat troops are conservatives?

John Kerry
Bob Kerrey
Max Cleland
John Murtha
Jim Webb
Daniel Inouye
all veterans Inouye, Kerrey and Cleland wounded
Bush and Cheney both draft-dodgers.... Rove too... LOL
Ralphdraw3 4 years ago 2
All conscripts. We were talking about current members of the volunteer military.
TAMARLANE 4 years ago
BS
Kerry wasn't;
neither was Murtha or Webb
Get you facts straight...
Ralphdraw3 4 years ago
All 3 are sad excuses for human beings right about now.
Kerry was drafted into the Army, but joined the Navy hoping to avoid ground combat. Then volunteered to serve on an off shore Navy vessel but was picked to serve on swift boats, where he served himself as best he could. Sad case, Mr. Kerry.

bomb em all... Americans are too dumb to stand up for themselves.
(whether it was muslims or whites who did 9/11)
We did deserve 9/11. Until we accept that, we are setting up for the next one.
DevBlazed 4 years ago
Writes DevBlazed, "We did deserve 911." That's the stupidest thing I've heard since Bush last opened his mouth. How can you say that? Did you know anybody who died in the towers on that day? Did they 'deserve 911?' Maybe you think Osama is hero?
nothankyoumam 4 years ago
Osama didnt do it buddy.
DevBlazed 4 years ago
Sure. And gravity is just a theory.
nothankyoumam 4 years ago 2
Oh give me a break, I don't trust these polls anymore. I think it's fabricated for the Bush agenda.

Veracifier is losing my respect as it seems they too dont care much for Ron Paul. And seem to exclude him entirely.
DevBlazed 4 years ago
Veracifier is recapping the Sunday morning news shows here. Paul was not a subject of these programs; Iraq was. Don't blame the messenger, Veracifier. Blame the media which ignores and ridicules your candidate.
