@accoustasound oh yeah? You feel good supporting a team whose college you never attended? You're really proud of that? Wait... you never attended college at all, did you? Wow... you must be proud. Wait... you didn't finish high school either? Ouch. Guess there are WalMart Buckeyes everywhere. Pathetic.
I'm just thankful that I don't live in the flattest, dullest, John Boner-ist state in the nation. But don't worry. Next time I'm in Ohio ordering extra large fries I'll say hi, pal.
Thanks for sharing. Yet another reminder that no matter where I live, foremost I'm a Michigander and Detroiter. Detroit isn't the world's greatest city, but anyone who can't see that it's a great city doesn't deserve to enjoy it's many, many attributes.
Thank you for sharing this video. I remember there were a lot of "Yes! Michigan" commercials in the 80s... if you have any more of them, PLEASE upload. We get nostalgic for our better times as we attempt to claw our way back to the top after the setbacks of the Engler years.
So far Lansing was pretty cool, especially East Lansing. I'm from Wisconsin and it reminded me a bit like our Madison here. Idk, maybe every capital city/college town has that cool "hip" vibe to it? The only other cities I visited were Flint (shithole), and Port Huron (shithole compared to across the border in Sarnia, ON). Go Lansing though! Any other towns worth visiting? Someone on here said Ann Arbor was a shithole too, but what about Saginaw?
I love Michigan! It is home. GO BLUE!! I remember this ad campaign. Kind of lame, but O-H-I-O has NOTHING on us. But to be honest..... I am from the Detroit Metro Area and it is just true about Detroit. Kwayme Kilpatrick, former mayor, disgusts me......
More fresh water coastline than any other state. Also, more highbush blueberry production than any other state. Beaches and berries!!! Michigan here I come.
I'm a lifelong Ohio resident (and a die hard Buckeye) but this video still gives me chills. I love Saginaw Bay and Alpena in the summer and South Haven and Holland all year round. Except for Detroit-Flint-Ann Arbor, the rest of the state is VERY beautiful and we vacation there very often. (GO BUCKS)
Thanks for posting this, brings back great memories. Not sure but I think there was another one of these, with a voice-over, something like "and winter sunsets that last a lifetime."
Sorry to keep ranting, but besides being the city that put America on wheels, we helped save the world during World War II by building all the tanks and trucks and cannons and planes that helped win the war !!!!!! The rest of the country should be kissing our ass. Again...sorry for the rant...I just feel strongly that we have been a victim of injustice. GO BLUE !!! LOL
Not to mention Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Goober and the Peas (Look 'em up),Eminem, Rare Earth, Madonna, The Supremes and way too many more to count. !!! From ONE CITY ???!!! OMG !!!!! Seriuosly........Thanks again for sharing this. So cool. GO WINGS !!!
Thanx for saring this. THE most under-rated city (Detroit) and sate (Michigan). Easy for the media to rip on us because of economic woes. But nobody can touch us in sports, hunting, fishing, lakes and don't get ne started on music. (The White Stripes, Stevie Wonder, Iggy and the Stooges, MC5, Seger, Nugent, Cooper, Marvin Gaye, John Lee Hooker, The Romantics, Kid Rock, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Aretha Franklin, The Rockets, The Four Tops and Temptaions) just to name a FEW !!
@loungelizard5000 I agree with everything you say except for "sports". Remember your Detroit Lions went 0-16. That's pretty awkward then to say no other football team could touch you in sport of football. Red Wins rock though!
@loungelizard5000 The media does have a way of forgetting that, in spite of our temporary employment woes, as recently as 2006, Michigan still had the 12th largest gross state product. Furthermore, if Michigan was its own country -- out of ALL the countries in the world -- we'd have had the 25th largest gross domestic product on Earth.
i'm going to MICHIGAN!!!!! yeah!

The state could save a boatload of cash by dusting this off and using it instead of making more pure Michigan ads.
