Just got back to the paino after 25 years (!!) and the best tutorials I found for chords on the Internet are yours!!!
I am getting around understanding chords, but I cant seem to work the rythm (or how you vary the finger-pattern). Do you have any tutorials where you talk about that? I almost learned "Easy", but only the chords, not the rythm (or finger-variation) . . .
@chidogz1995 Hi there, how you don't mind msg, I have the sheet music for this, although there are two versions out there, one is in Fmaj and other version is I think key of G something, U can get to see 1st page if you go to Musicnotes for example. Although they don't match how he plays it now, he has stepped it up or down to match his voice now I think.
If anyone is interested i have a vid on the bridge to this song, im just fooling around in it so its not pulic but if you would like the link just drop me a line.
Mike, great song.....can you give us some tips to play the transition, I think I hear an A and an E chord inter but I can't tie it back to the original tune
great tutorial Mike. I was wondering about the middle part where he goes "It seems to me that there are more hearts broken in the world that can't be mended, left unattended. What do we do? What do we do?"
Hi , thanks for watching, i do have a part 2 vid for this tune, but i think your right i did not incl the bridge. I got the chords from ultimate guitar.com
alone again naturally ver. 2. check there if it does not help let me know
This is great! What a superb choice. Might have to transpose to be able to sing that high!! Thanks for your invaluable lessons - can't wait to try this one. I can now play Wild Horses thanks to you, and I am working on Easy and Logical Song.
Mike, your arrangement of this fantastic songs by Gilbert is so good. As a lifetime fan of Gilbert I have been playing around with almost the same chords as you have demonstrated on this great video.
Last year when I went to see Gilbert live in concert I was lucky enough to get to the afternoon soundcheck in Dublin. I met Gilberts musical director and he photocopied me some of the chord charts for Gilberts songs.
I would dearly love to see you arrange 'Nothing Rhymes'.
Mike, Gilbert shifts the pitch of his piano up on many of his songs. On the piano scores I got from his musical director they are notated as Gilbert wrote them but they are marked with notes on transposition also to show the relevant key in which he is singing.

i notice gilbert transposes down a semitone on his live performances, that seems to be enough for my terrible voice, thanks for the nice comments!
