In fact, I'm not even sure why it's called WROL. If it's illegal to rob someone today, and overnight SHTF, it will still be illegal tomorrow to rob somebody. There may be cut backs on Police and patrols, there may be areas Police are UNABLE or WILL NOT patrol, 911 may not be working for you to call for help, but everything you do can get you put in jail if you are breaking the law. Like I said, it's a matter of enforcement. But chances are, if you shoot someone, police will show up.

Katrina was against the law. The National Guard did not report to the mayor of New Orleans. What is interesting is how the orders were pass down to the guard units.The govenor and the Comanding general in this case should have been taken to task.
The General should have known that this order was illegal and refused. The real question is will the Guard repeat history? Will federal troops be used against the US citizens?

Excellent points. The alertness level should always be turned on to some degree of preparedness. A breakdown is not instantaneous, rather, it is a slow process with a lot of misery. By the time it leads to a full blown Mad Max scenario, years could pass. We're already experiencing this misery right now and the shit has been hitting the fan for a long time. Also, but unlikely, is the possibility that the world may recover from this before it gets much worse. Highly unlikely though.
Great content but I'm really against the acronym "WROL". For one thing, it could stand for WITH rule or law or WITHOUT rule of law, so it's confusing. Also ROL vs WROL is pronounced the exact same way, I think we need better acronyms here for easier conveyance of ideas (and I know other people use these acronyms I'm not just blaming you!)
I agree with many previous commenters. Argentine collapse was a collapse with the ability to rebuild a semblance of the previous system... Unfortunately, frequently, the law will not punish the looters, but is more than ready to swoop down on the law abiding when those people do something they feel is necessary, but it violates the law.
