  • Varcoe. "Casual"? Riiiight! There's another one on YouTube that's wrongly titled 'Rioli Clanger leads to Varcoe three effort goal'. a) Rioli had a pressured kick but more importantly b) it was a five effort goal! Equally brilliant to watch on YouTube, but I was in the top of the Ponsford stand to see this goal and you could see the efforts unfolding! Brilliant!

  • what people don't notice is that mitch duncan also ran the length of the ground aswell but a sensational goal!

  • SUCK ON THAT EDDIE.

    I LOVE YOU GEELONG!

  • Eddie at the end almost crying! eat a dick cunt!

  • is there footage of just eddie through the whole game? i would buy a dvd of just that footage

  • @MrYub yes I would like the same dvd cuz i hate eddy so much....such a wanka and by the way! goes for the wrong footy club! a losers footy club...suck shit and die eddy

  • @MrYub yeh id pay 50 bucks for that prob even more hahaha

  • EPIC RUN!

  • The work and effort Trav put into this Goal highlights the exact reason he shouldn't be dropped as many wanted during the season, and though he isnt consistent enough its individual pieces of brilliance like this that wins games GO CATS 2011 PREMIERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Eddie n Maxwell, please gargle my balls thanks

  • suck my freshly shaven irritated balls eddy

  • can someone please explain to me why nick maxwell is in his own forward 50? he is the most ineffective and useless player, there is no way he should be playing.

    VVVVAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR-CCCCCCOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEE

  • Varcs just ran the length of the field to kick that one!

  • Love it! One for the ages! As good as Michael Long and Peter Matera's GF goals.

  • I love seeing the rich and powerful - Not get what they want.

  • Varcoe does it week in week out. His goal against Hawthorn was even better.

  • @michaeleriksen

not he doesn't, he's very inconsistent.

  • Almost as good as Wanganeen's point in the 1993 gf lol.

  • From memory that was the loudest roar of the game. It was kinda when we knew we had it won, but nobody was game enough to say it yet.

  • Best bit was seeing Eddie & his turnip coloured head at the end.

  • @thesatchdog and the identical expression on his kid. Classic.

  • I was there and with a tear in my eye i sang out loud and proud GEEEEEEEEEE-LLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNG

  • I think I am pretty safe in saying that if it weren't for Varcoe that day, the Cats would have lost.

  • goal of the year easily, suck my balls maxwell nice hitout to advantage

  • 0:43 was my favourite part XD

  • u mad eddie

  • alot of people only see the end result in the snapped goal (which was still great by the way, left foot...) but alot of work went into this goal! great work varcoe! and great work Geelong!!

  • Duncan sprinted down the whole ground with him. Great work rate boys, fave goal of the granny :)

  • @losecontrol08 glad someone else noticed duncuns effort, received on the back 50m and went on to contest in the fwd pocket. solid effort from both boys

  • "...he'll never forget"....until he gets his 8th concussion

  • It's great that people still recognise these kind of Plays/players. It seems most people are only interested in Marks, and snapping goals.

    Great play Varcoe!

  • Brilliant effort by both Mitch Duncan and Travis Varcoe during that passage of play! Both of them followed the ball all the way from the backline to BOTH be instrumental in the finish. Glorious. The future is bright for the cats! :)

  • reminiscent of 1937!!!!!

  • In all the wrap up of the Grand Final that I've seen I'm amazed that neither Varcoe or Harry Taylor have received a mention. I thought their efforts were outstanding. This isn't the first time Trav has done this sort of thing either. I love his determination to keep making the next contest. Great win Cats.

  • Gutsy, determined, scrappy, ferocious, desperate.

Casual? I'm sick of hearing about indigenous players who are "magic," or "smooth." There is often a subtle undertone that they're not trying, and it's all natural talent. Most of us would even be able to say the word casual after trying to run 150m.

Trav is a hard working gun.

    Go Cats! Premiers 2011!!

  • @refusetm So true. I reckon being labelled as a hard worker is a bigger honour than being called skillful, by a long shot.

  • @refusetm Youre right, but there is a very natural and smooth look to the way he kicks it. Not saying its effortless, more graceful

  • @refusetm not a geelong supporter but i cannot stop thanking u guys 4 beating the cocksuckers. thankyou geelong 4 beating collingwood

  • @SuperEssendon2000 no worries mate we will do it anytime....

  • What a gun varcoe's become! Love the laconic way he goes about it :D

  • Nothing Casual about this goal, fought the whole way. Love you Geelong

  • Didn't realise the multiple efforts in that play by Varcoe, from the contested mark in the backline, follow up running, a toe poke to the flank, and still running to crumb the ball off the spillage to snap the goal. Absolutely amazing, he'd be so spent after that huge effort!!

  • @hswforme he did it against hawthorn this year aswell

  • @hswforme So true my friend. But it interesting to note that Mitch Duncan ran for about the same distance. He kicked the ball to Johnson from the half back and ran the whole way up and was, in the end the one whose hands the ball came off when Varcoe kicked the goal. If thats not hard unrewarded running I don't know what is, really it epitomises Geelong and committment to the cause.

  • Such an amazing goal and game. Go Cats!
