the intro starts with D...pick pattern...pick the root note first D string, then the G, then E, then B, finally end on G.

then go to the g chord with that same patter.

there's a much easier way to play the solo, if you just stay in d-minor, it's less movement on the neck and flows better.

this is really good, a lot of covers and friends i have who play the intro strumming, because it sounds the same and is easier, which is ok because it doesnt need to be exactly the same. but yours is just more accurate the the original track with the picking.

the reason ppl say it's off is because he played a different part of the neck. it's usually done outlining the D Minor Pentatonic but the way is did it is fine too, just more difficult since you have to move up to the D Mixolydian for the second part. sounds good though nonetheless :)

@austin881000 ...same notes on the solo, just different position down the fret-board on the higher strings. he doesn't switch between standard d and g chords for the chorus, but picks the same notes that are played when you do switch. this is a good and accurate version, though it may be tabbed differently than what your buddy has.
