We used to be different, but called us to a life of living more biblical Christianity, and it has done nothing but bless us! As Francis and his wife grow more and more, he will continue to speak things that are more and more difficult for the body of Christ to hear! BUT SOMEONE NEEDS TO SPEAK on the things no one feels good about hearing! MAy the Lord Bless him!
Holiness.. God is truly awesome i felt like this about a year ago.. wanted more and didnt know what it was... Someone came to me with some basic truths in the word of God and i denied those truths but I eventually went into a box where i kept running into the same thing(wanting more of God) Holiness is the key and answer.. Romans 12:2 Hebrew 12:14 Matthew 5:8... be blessed in Jesus name
(We can be so self-righteous at times)... Moving on... maybe, you can relate to the Israelites who wandered around for 40 years in the wilderness (READ: after they were freed from Egypt) instead of 40 days, eh? Why? Wasn't it because of their lack of faith in God? (READ: JUST ENOUGH LIGHT FOR THE NEXT STEP...) And if you're still confused about the meaning of 'CHURCH' & 'LEAVING' in this context, refer to the comments @Jazzgirl878 & @insightfulgirl
Have you ever come across the term called 'Church planting?' You see... There's this whole world around us where the Gospel is still unheard of, & it's people like Francis Chan who are bold enough to step out of THEIR COMFORT ZONE to do the will of God. Did Jesus tell Abraham, 'Dude! Don't worry, man... I am not gonna let you kill your own son... This is just a test of your faith & love for me. Psss... Don't tell your son 'bout this just as yet, eh? ;-)' (Cont.)
What happens when you die? Have you told lies, stolen, used God's name in vain(10 Commandments)? If yes, then you're a liar, thief, and a blasphemer in the sight of God. When you die & be judged by God, you'll be guilty of sin, & go to Hell! But God sent His Son Jesus to shed His blood & die on a cross for your sins, He was buried & rose again from the dead on the third day. If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus died for your sins, was buried & resurrected)you'll not perish & have eternal life
@davidalexander100 Francis Chan does not teach what you are claiming he does. Before you publicly stone a brother in the LORD, you should find out what he really teaches.
Nice to see a man open about his journey with God. Honest about uncertainty and humble enough to admit what he spent so much effort on wasn't resembling what church looks like in scripture...I'm not a critic...I'm an admirer.
I know this video is several months old, and I'm just finishing "Crazy Love" for the first time now. But I want to take a moment to thank Francis for being faithful to what God has had him doing, and let him know I'm praying for whatever it is that God has for him next. I completely support following God before all else, and often taking some time in between moves is very healthy and helps focus. Bless you!
Francis was not the only pastor at Cornerstone. We have a half dozen pastors at least, and Todd Nighswonger is really the elder that ran everything. The flock is well taken care of, and we support his move.
Proverbs 20:24 "If a man's steps are of the LORD, how then can he understand his way." Have we figured God out so well to presume that He would NEVER do something unusual or unorthodox or even "unbiblical". I put quotes around that because as much as scripture is our guide, more often then not we use the term "unbiblical" as a cop out to box the work of God in. When in fact, in scripture God is often discreet in his purposes, but direct in His will. Ezekiel, go hide your underwear under a rock.
I believe Francis Chan is a wonderful human being. I heard him at Willow Creek and then watched several videos. He has great faith to step out in response to a call which does not give him every answer. Would that we all have that kind of faith coupled with expectant action.
wait a minute. so this man is a pastor of this big church and GOD IS TELLING HIM TO LEAVE HIS FLOCK, but yet not tell HIM WHAT HE IS DOING.. so he left without knowing what he was to do... GOD TELLS THE SHEPHARD TO LEAVE HIS SHEEP, but not telling him what how and when... wow.. i dont know bout this.. so what about the sheep... HE SHOULD ATLEAST PROVIDE BIBLICAL SUPPORT WHY HE BELIEVES GOD IS TELLING HIM.. we check the bible to see what the SPIIRIT IS SAYING. im all for leaping in faith.. but
@BrothaMinister -Remember God told Abraham to go without telling him where to go. Jesus himself left the disciples but with the great commission to spur on the church, to multiply, go into all the world and continue to move as the Spirit leads. That is what is so great about God, He is Spirit - always moving.
@Havemirrc i agree 100%. i do understand we are called to do some things without for revealation, but to be called to PASTOR A CHRUCH and told to leave it WITHOUT VISION OR DIRECTION i dont see that being God.. unless HE WAS NEVER CALLED TO PASTOR THAT CHURCH.. now if he is saying that then ok... truthfully as long as he is doing GOd's will thats all that matters. just hope that the people who sat under him is not mislead or confused now
@Havemirrc and by the way God told abraham WHAT HE WAS LEADING HIM TO. AND WHAT THE COVENANT WAS... He was taking him to a place where he never seen before but he knew what he was guiding him to and the promises that was lead. and yes he told the disciples to go to the world but HE TOLD THEM EXACTLY WHAT TO DO.... he didnt say go into the world and i will tell you later your assignment. but nyways i seen some videos atleast he is going to help people.. but just dont agree bout leaving CHURCH
@BrothaMinister Just remember he isn't leaving the church. He still wants to serve the Lord and church doesn't mean a building or a certain place but the group of people who believe in Christ. Francis is still serving the church just in a different location.
@Wretchedvideos One more comment to add Francis Chan states in his books and everything that he practices what he preaches. If he was looking to feed his ego and be this big hot shot wouldn't he have kept his huge home that he had? If you read his books he talks about how much he downsized because he wants to specifically follow the Lord. If that's not humle I don't know what is. I'll tell you this much I don't know any American personally that would be willing to do that Christian or not....
@Wretchedvideos I think you should really check out Francis Chan he's actually a very humble but also a bold pastor. And Jesus was called to move He never stayed in just one area teaching and He was called to multiple ministries so I honestly don't believe it's wrong of him to leave the church. :)
Odd I come across your comment after that video is posted. I applaud Francis for this, not that any man needs my praise. While I see your point, I also disagree with it--because the majority of professing Christians have been indoctrinated into beliefs before EVER picking up the Bible and reading it thru. To sit back and take an objective look at the Scriptures without presuppositions can be rough--but then ACTING on it...is what matters, we can speak all day... it's nothing
I've been listening to Francis's messages lately and I respected him tt he bold enough to take a step a faith. as a Christian i have lot of things whch i needed to learn from him especially walking by faith and denying self.. 1 thing for sure prosperity preachers can never leave a mega church and start something new like him reaching to the poors..keep it up Francis i'm sure 1 day the LORD will say to you and Lisa "GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANTS' . -Godbless ;)
It all started with Crazy Love, I believed I knew God before but wow I had no clue how different this relationship should be and God has moved in my life like I could never have imagined. Since reading Crazy Love I have held two Crazy Love studies given it to all my friends and employees, I've been baptized and I am completely living for the Lord and allowing Him to direct my path. Words can't explain my gratefulness to Francis for his devotion and how he is changing people for God!!!
@shannon51778 Remember though, it isn't so much Francis as God through Francis. That was one thing he stressed very heavily at Passion this year. He doesn't want the credit. He wants God to get all the glory as He should.
For 52 years I've been a Jesus girl .. but through these past 38 months, God has crushed & broken my heart wide-open to Who He really is. I now truly do BELIEVE Him! Life Today & Francis are 2 of the sharpest tools God has used to begin the process of healing, transforming & renewing my mind & heart. As I thank our Lord for you, I am earnestly praying that you will remain strong in the Spirit..& that words may be given you so that you will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel. Yes!

All glory be to God. I pray that the sober teaching of the bible in power of Holly Spirit would be more strong and effective.
