On a certain site which youtube won't let me post, there are 2,089 notes with flowers left there. She is one of the most popular graves visited on the site. Her marker reads Sandra Dee April23 1942- February 20 2005. Then one large single rose and below that Unforgettable And Always Loved.

The 60's represented the best of times and the worst of times, like any other era. You know that better than most. Celebreties of that time were larger than life, so much so that in retrospect some seem phony. Not Sandra and Bobby. They were real people, who really loved each other, and through their combined talents offered us a sense of what was good and right in America.

Has anyone in the music industry ever given so much in so many areas in such a short time? This is so touching and such a wonderful tribute to a love story that makes all our hearts a little softer while yearning for happier times. Sandra Dee was a cliche' during the 70's, with Grease, but she was a real person and a lovely woman who fell on bad times. She loved only one man in her life. How many women or Men for that matter, can claim that honor !!!! I will bet you are not a child of the 50's or 60's, and therfore, you have no idea the real innocence of the time.

Calaxus - yes, unfortunately she passed away about 4 years ago. I don't think she ever got over losing her career (what were those people thinking - letting her go?) and losing Bobby. She did an hour show with Sally Jesse Raphael in the 90's - wish I could see that again. Anyone have a copy?????
After Darin's death, (by her own admission) Dee became seriously depressed, drank heavily, etc. The two had an intense bond but Darin fought heart trouble and Sandra Dee had a hard time handling the stress - and the loss.

@TheLindazip , A&E did indeed make a Sandra Dee bio, made in the late 90s. I recorded it when it first aired, don't know if the Biography Channel shows it.
I don't know how anybody, anywhere can continue to make lyrics like these and of the great standards. If you listen to today's lyrics they are vague, meaningless phrases that happen to fit the music. The songwriter has my utmost respect when they have to compete with songs like this. I understand Darin might not have wrote this, however he has written over 160 songs and of course he was always striving to be better.
Despite their successes separately and together I always thought these "Dreamlovers" were underrated. She was beautiful and his talent was limitless. Thanks for the terrific video and the perfect song to go with it.
This was a beautiful video . . . . . I've read 3 books on Bobby, and it's clear (especially from the book written by their son) that they never stopped loving each other. They were in love at a time when we didn't understand their psychological and physical issues. If we knew at the time how to treat eating disorders, and how to replace heart valves, Bobby and Sandy may have been able to work through their troubles.
I prefer to believe that Bobby and Sandy are together in a better place.

I get the feeling I should've purchased it =_= Oh well. I loved the pictures of them you used. You can tell they were very much in love in these photos, and that reflected the song perfectly.

Sandra I believe, loved Bobby until the day she died. I think Bobby was lonely for Sandra the rest of his life. They have a son, Dodd who loves his parents and has tried to keep his mother's and father's memories alive and not forgotten.

Impossible to not shed a tear listening to this, knowing we all have our own "once upon a times"........children, lovers, spouses, friends, cousins. Time simply marches on, and all the yesterdays become more precious and cherished.
It's really difficult to find the words to say how I feel when I see this video and hear this beautiful song. It pulls at my heartstrings til they almost break. Darin would come and play the Latin Casino in Cherry Hill, NJ at least twice a year in the early 70's. Some people may have considered him brash and arrogant but he was courageous and extremely talented more than anything else. We had oxygen set up off stage that he had access to during his performances. There was not an musical instrument that he could not master and the only song and danceman in his league was Sammy Davis, Jr. Everything that Darin touched he excelled at!

This was a beautiful video . . . . . I've read 3 books on Bobby, and it's clear (especially from the book written by their son) that they never stopped loving each other. They were in love at a time when we didn't understand their psychological and physical issues. If we knew at the time how to treat eating disorders, and how to replace heart valves, Bobby and Sandy may have been able to work through their troubles.
I prefer to believe that Bobby and Sandy are together in a better place.

Excellent. I'm not very familiar with Bobby Darrin's music, but I absolutely adore this song. I was just at a record show, and my mom found one of his albums. I get the feeling I should've purchased it =_= Oh well. I loved the pictures of them you used. You can tell they were very much in love in these photos, and that reflected the song perfectly.

@tanglewood2222 63 isnt that old. But even after he was died all those years she NEVER married again. That is both very sad and so very beatiful at the same time. No other could replace her true love and it seems she wouldnt settle for second best. . A vey tragic and beatiful love story

What a touching tribute to this star-crossed couple. It was almost like one of his swan songs. I wonder if he felt that the end was coming soon when he sang this, it's strangely prophetic. Once again, a touching tribute to a very talented couple.

@Dee530 Just beautiful. What a Birthday Surprise that was. Sandra and Bobby were two lovely and talented people who sadly seperated tragically. They had the promise of a wonderful life together. Sandra I believe, loved Bobby until the day she died. I think Bobby was lonely for Sandra the rest of his life. They have a son, Dodd who loves his parents and has tried to keep his mother's and father's memories alive and not forgotten.

@JordanDurell I agree 100% I'm pretty stable emotionally but lost it when his son Dodd got the lifetime achevement award. What a great spirit that we get to continue to enjoy. They can take your dignity, pride and life but never what you've recorded. Ahh.. actual music... Lvoe you Bobby I'd love to meet you some day somewhere.

It's really difficult to find the words to say how I feel when I see this video and hear this beautiful song. It pulls at my heartstrings til they almost break. Once upon a time the world really was sweeter than we knew. We thought it would last forever. The world was so very different then. Like the movie says, your dreams are like moonbeams, you can do with them whatever you want. Thanks for this wonderful tribute.

Darin would come and play the Latin Casino in Cherry Hill, NJ at least twice a year in the early 70's. Some people may have considered him brash and arrogant but he was courageous and extremely talented more than anything else. We had oxygen set up off stage that he had access to during his performances. There was not an musical instrument that he could not master and the only song and danceman in his league was Sammy Davis, Jr. Everything that Darin touched he excelled at!

this is so beautiful! i adore bobby but, love when kevin spacey sings it. i once had a precious little golden retriever names chrissy & i cry when i hear this song because we used to sit under a tree and i would wrap my arms around her & just love her. she is now in heaven with bobby & i can not wait to join them - i would love to find a man who loved me like he loved sandy.
