no MGS5 is a sequel to MGS3/MPO. its final. its for PSP called Peacewalker. theres a link somewhere on a video. but the one after Peacewalker is about Raiden.

If it wasn't for the story in Portable Ops then Gray Fox wouldn't exist, there would be no Outer Heaven and the Patriots would not have formed.

There are several Metal Gear titles on the PSP. Neither Metal Gear Ac!d nor Ac!d 2 are canon, but Portable Ops is actually a continuation of the story in MGS3. So yeah, it is part of the canon story, but it isn't really mentioned, probably because of the lack of users who have played it.

In Metal Gear Solid:Portable Ops, Big Boss and a young Roy Campbell are held as prisoners in a South American prison. They escape, team up and form a group of soldiers within the game to fight against the terrorists. During the game, Big Boss meets Null aka Grey Fox. After defeating Null, Big Boss and Null become friends I think. (??) Then at the end, Big Boss and Roy Campbell create FoxHound.

the sorrow and boss from mgs3 are the parents of revolver ocelot. They were both members of the Cobra unit during wwII. Boss is the leader of the Cobra Unit. When naked snake(genetic father of solid solidus and liquid snake) killed Boss he became big boss. Big boss was killed by solid snake in metal gear 2 before the metal gear solid series. Kapeesh

Solid Snake, Liquid Snake, and Solidus Snake are clones of Big Boss, so they are sometimes refered to as the "sons" of Big Boss, and refer to Big Boss as their "father".

this is because snake killed his genetical brother liquid in MGS1 and Ocelot got his hand cut off by grey fox , so ocelot put the dead liquids hand on him and in MGS2 , that hand consumed ocelot and ocelot became liquid , which now reminds solid that he killed him.

That isn't to say that Big Boss can't still be alive. The MGS series has so many plot twists.
