These two guys were competing morning-drive radio announcers. The reporter was Jim Stanley of WMYK-FM (K-94) and the battered husband was Mike Arlo of WNOR-FM (FM-99). The early Eighties was a good time for radio in Hampton Roads.....or, if you prefer, as I do, Tidewater.
There's a chapter on Dr Madblood's Movie in Elena Watson's 1991 book Television Horror Hosts: 68 Vampires, Mad Scientists and Other Denizens Of The Late Night Airwaves. She covers just about everybody who hosted one of these shows from the 50's to around 1990.
WOW!!!!! This is stunning. Mr. Bishop the battered husband-- it is comedic but it is actually a real societal problem rarely admitted. IT would have been scarier and more realistic if after he lied about it the female came in and pretended to be nice, "come on Darling. . . you've said enough now" and then the local family resource helpline # flashed or something
