Really odd looking back at this video now to see that msnbc had these two disgraced congressman on at the same time. This Phil roe can't talk for 5 minutes without going to wieners and children and how he a friggin doctor. Look, I'm from his district. This dude is a true dirtbag. Big time dirtbag and wiener not. Much better but not as bad as that roe. What a disgrace
Listen up America! The right wing idiots have done everything to block what this president has tried to do and it s the right wings fault that this economy is in the tank!
These republican tea party freaks have to be the sickest bastards in American politics! There is no way this economy will survive in only spending cuts and that is why they want Obama to be a one term president and the other reason is because he is black! You bigots need to go to hell in a hand basket!
"We have to get my republican friends to transition from their successful 2010 campaign rhetoric to an idea that they're governing now, they're in charge. They've got to show some reasonableness ."
This is so stupid. 40 Bil in cuts is less than 1% of the total budget. Are we that stupid? Do you think you can pull yourself out of debt by cutting 1% of your total monthly expenses? This is some total BS. Liberals, you MUST dumb this conversation down for the tea partiers. They just don't get it. The income disparity in this country is astronomic. We can't continue to give tax breaks to millionaires while we cut every program designed to help poor people. This country SUCKS!
Even with military being off the table, instead of quibbling over $30B in cuts, why not get back the $150B from the Bush tax cuts? Obama must be pissed beyond measure that he tried good faith just to get stonewalled by Boehner... guarantee he will hit back asking for big tax increases against the rich now.
You know I knew it was only a matter of time before the Tea Party and the GOP overplayed their hand. And now we have the Speaker of the House go on national TV and threaten to commit TREASON. He has said that he is willing to do something that he believes will cause grave harm to the United States of America ….Good luck defending this one.
The GOP is only focusing on the spending. They're forgetting the other half of a debt is income. The income we don't have thanks to the blowjob tax cuts they give to the rich.
Anthony, I am unemployed right now, but I have a B.A. in English/Education and a M.A. in Philosophy from Columbia....
....Give me a JOB....So I can work for the only Politician in the U.S. with any Morality. In other words, you've got BALLS, Sir...and I am glad to see it.
The amount of cuts are not nearly as important as what will be cut. Weiner hit the big point that 99.9% of politicians are scared to admit, that defense cuts are where our budget talks should start.
The back and forth argument about what the American people want is just silly. Do you think Americans really know the difference between $33billion & $40billion? No, those are just intangible numbers being thrown around right now. But they'll certainly feel the difference if the latter becomes the chosen amount.
@Solareffects exactly. If you notice Boehner says "...what we can get." and guess who is giving it to him? Obama. The moment that Obama says NO then maybe we will see an end to the giving.
Want to balance the budget? SIMPLE. Cut the military, tax the rich - DESTROYING the ELITE instead of the middle classes and introduce a national health care system - then NEVER EVER vote for a disingenuous republican scum bag ever again and the budget will not only be fixed but will never need fixing again! TA DA....
Now if you can just get the insane working/middle class right wing nuts to READ SOME FUCKING BOOKS the problem will be solved in perpetuity....
~~> Take back the 700Billion dollar tax breaks for the record profit corps... If they can afford to pay the lobbists, they can afford to pay thier taxes... STOP TAX EVADERS... STOP THE CORPORTOTCARY...
Weiner is great, but you also gotta give kudos to Roe. Sure he stuck to the typical GOP talking points, but he seems like a fairly reasonable and objective guy.
Has anyone wondered why congress has the authority on our money in the first place, when they're too influenced by their own agenda? A separate branch of government should be responsible for our budget, a branch that isn't in the pockets of corporations. Why not the IRS or the National Treasury?
Isn't it interesting how this interview involved no shouting, no host rudely interrupting and demagoguing either guest, and there was an actual intelligible conversation. The hosts on FOX news would do well to learn from this.
I voted yesterday and I hope everyone votes every chance they get -
THE LIES ABOUT WE ARE BROKE AND THEN GIVING SUBSIDIES TO THE WELFARE CORPORATIONS - HEY WHEN I HAVE TO PAY MORE TAXES THEN GE AND BANK AMERICA FUCK YOU REPUBLICUNTS
SHUT IT DOWN. Go ahead, let it happen. The fucking repubs are doing their best to kill this country. The middle class jobs are gone, the rich have everything, labor is broken. SHUT IT DOWN. DEPRESSION NOW OR DEPRESSION LATER. MAYBE WHEN WE ARE STARVING WE WILL BE ABLE TO KILL NAFTA AND ALL THE OTHER SHIT TRADE DEALS THESE BASTARDS FORCED ON US. THEN HANG THE REPUB BASTARDS.
LOL @ "We don't have the money to spend." So where did that $700 billion tax cut for the wealthiest 1% of Americans come from, Roe? It is fascinating to me that there are people in this country who actually vote Republican. Then again, there are also people who go to ICP concerts. Maybe there's some overlap there.
I saw some digital artifacts on the interviewee's faces, anyone want to take bets on how long it takes for people to accuse Weiner of being a shape shifting reptilian?
in all seriousness, Weiner for president. How about a Weiner/Hilary Clinton ticket?
Is there any republican left not ashamed of their action? This republican cunt is obviously so ashamed to be put in the spotlight and forced to take all the blamed for what the majority of republicans want to pass... which they know is a bad solution.
Weiner has grown major support over the last couple of years, and if he were to run for the Presidency, he would have a great chance to win it.
The only problem is funding. With rich GOP guys, and even a few Dems, funding comes easy. Take Obama -- he has nearly $1Billion for his 2012 campaign. Donald Trump said he would put down half a billion easy if he ran (which he won't.)
Mr Weiner, from the mountains of West Virginia, thank you. We need a person like you fighting to keep the EPA and NPR funded and going strong if we are ever to see an end to Mountain Top Removal.
@secundadonna i was hoping to vote for the first time in 2012 now that im old enough but i dont think its going to happen unless by some chance Rep. Weiner runs.... but that isnt likely to happen either..... :(
@theskepticalheretic I'm an American who lives in Canada, so would I vote for my district rep in Maryland? Regardless, I will vote anyway, but if Mr. Weiner decides to run, and eventually becomes, the democratic caanadidate I'd be actually more compelled to vote.
@secundadonna So you'd need to be a resident of a particular district for 9 months of the year. I think you technically are ineligible to vote but I could be incorrect.
Then again, there are extenuating circumstances. If you're in University you'd be voting in your prior district, assuming you registered before you went to Canada.
@loveofphysics hahaha, nice enthusiasm! While I'm somewhat satisfied with President Obama's work in the Oval Office, I feel that he lacks the charisma and down-to-earth passion that Mr. Weiner possesses. However, that doesn't seem very feasible because planning and raising a campaign budget take considerable time and strategising. I wish I could help. :(
