BTW, SureFire T1A Titan (70 Lumens) at $249 vs SureFire E1B Backup (110 Lumens) at $160, which is (40 Lumens less) & $89 more just doesn't make much sense! I think people R better off getting a Soldering Iron & nail that SureFire E1B Backup (110 Lumens) to their Key Chain than putting that WEAK SureFire T1A Titan (70 Lumens) on their Key Chain!! >=(
How about a NEW SureFire E1B Backup UPGRADE 4 its Clip System to allow Lanyard System 4 just $20! I & others will take that instead!! >=)
I have a SureFire E2D LED Defender (200 Lumens) as well 4 my BELT & that allowed a Lanyard System 4 its Clip System, but that is more meant to put on a BELT more than on a KEY CHAIN! Why can't SureFire E1B Backup (110 Lumens) have same thing? Reverse Clip On is just POINTLESS 4 something already that small! It needs to be on a Lanyard System or a Key Chain! If not, it'll just get lost eventually!! {roll my eyes}
SureFire should have allowed SureFire E1B Backup (110 Lumens) to put on a Lanyard System 4 its Clip System like SureFire E1L outdoorsman (45 Lumens) because I like to put SureFire E1B Backup (110 Lumens) on my key chain 4 convenience & easy access! Reverse Clip On is just pointless because U either clip on something or not on something! Who cares on which end it clipped on!! =/
I bought this light as a backup to my Surefire G2 while on duty and for off duty use. It has never failed me and is extremely comfortable to carry. Like all Surefire products, it is a great value and a necessary tool for the tactically minded LEO.
I have both the E1B & the LX2. I recommend the LX2 because you can turn it on the max of 200 lumens or 15 lumens by pressing the switch all the way or slightly. With the E1B you will always have to switch on the high output first then the low.
thats because the E1B is made for a tactical situation back-up light... the brighter beam first is so you don't have to cycle through while trying to blind/identify a suspect or general bad guy...
I definetely preffer the E1B and the E1L to the L1 / LX2 and to the soon coming LX1.
I find the clickie switch nicer than the twistie one , you basically need 2 hands to have the LX2/L1 on CONSTANT HIGH ; that's not happening with the smaller LED SUREFIREs.
I like Led Lenser P7 200 Lumen, and Led Lenser Police Tech Torch 108 lumen. Both made in Germany. (I personally like German or Japanese product as they have never failed on their quality production). But what is going on with flashlight world these days ? It seems everyone is trying to compete with one another. LOL!
I'd recommend the E1L, it lasts for 8 hours on high and 45 hours on how. And 45 lumens is plenty bright! plus i think it looks much better then the e1b
Thanks. But I read somewhere that these flashlight last about 1.8 hours. I'm so confused. Are you sure it's about 8 hours on high and 45 hours on low? And yes, I was planning to purchase the E1L, but it's too expensive, so I might have to wait a little. Thanks for your input.
The box on it advertises 8 hours high and actually 48 hours total useful light. and you can also find a good deal on eBay. I got mine brand new in box for $83.00 shipped. Well worth it!
83 bucks on ebay. You are one lucky son of a gun. Have you ever heard of the LX2? I think I might purchase that instead.. The brightness of that is very outstanding. Hopefully, it will throw very far. I'm also looking at ebay.; It's good place to shop for cheap price. :)
I keep telling a friend of mine that a Surefire is more important than buying a new pistol or knife. He doesn't seem to understand how important it is. He's going to end up finding out the hard way sadly.
My SureFire L4 LumaMax was my daily carry light until I bought the SureFire E1B Backup. Both are incredible flashlights. The L4 is brighter, but the E1B makes up for it by having a more focused beam.
My L4 is now my nightstand, home-defense light (with my Glock 17 nearby) and my E1B goes with me everywhere outside the house (with my Glock 26 legally concealed).
I currently have the new E2DL and love it. It is amazingly bright (Surefire often underates the output of their lights). I'm planning on getting an E1B for my EDC soon.

The E1B is just awesome, I have one and use it all the time. Nice demonstration, too! :D
