what might seem as skybusting to you, is just another shot for sombody else. all of our waterfowling equipment can vary. and its up to the hunter himself to know how his equipment works. in this case, they had the right equipment to take ducks from that distance.
seriously, you're sitting at home whining like a little bitch, about professional hunters who are out hunting, and you assume their taking 70 yard shots, you obviously don't know shit about duck hunting and you're probably one of those guys who pulls up the first weekend of hunting season in your toyota prius and annoys the shit out of the real hunters, seriously go buy some tampons instead of decoys you pussy.
who gives a shitt how close they are, and you are just jealous you cant hit a broad side of a barn and they're out there killin their limit! dont dog other guys huntin videos because you arnt out there killin any! get a life! and hey you talk bout sky bustin all the time, LOOK! theyre killing them and if theyre crippled, they are getting them!! quit bitching!
First of all you have no idea how far away the decoys are away from the hunters. Second you need to understand how other animals survive. When one of the injured ducks fall another animal survives off of that animal that we kill and cant find. It happens in every kind of hunting. Get your facts strait.
your an idiot...your studying videos while in your chair at home...Its easy to pick out the mistakes because your not in the thick of the Moment with the guys with Adrenaline pumping through you...I bet I could watch you hunting and nit pick too about this and that.....I would hate to be your Partner but heck I bet you don't have one...
Dude, that can happen shooting them at 7 yards or 70 yards. You are right it happens all the time. Ducks get crippled all the time. By you, by me, ny every duck hunter on the damn water. Try Sea Duck hunting, You can shoot a scoter at 10 yards almost 5 times and that doesnt kill them half the time. So get a tissue and whipe your tears just because you cant get a duck to decoy.
I agree with not sky busting and trying to be as humane as possible, but everything you rant about isnt shown from the video clip. You cant tell distance from a video clip and this rant video is anti hunting fuel. Your rant and logic sucks magoo
@TheDeathsmarch you can tell the height of the bird by counting how long it takes to hit the water. In this particular episode there are multiple occasions when these hunters make comments like "that duck was way out there" Its obvious the birds they are shooting are 50+ when shooting at them.
your looking at them shots as somone who uses a cheapy shell not someone whos using heavy shot thats freakin 30 bucks for 10 shells that shoot that far with no problem and so what if some are criple they're on the ground go get them them gettin away is not from a far shot its from a unacurate shooter and a lazy shooter that doesnt want to walk out and get them im goin sky bustin tomarrow and gunna criplpe and retrieve every bird i see with a pit bull as a retrever BEST BIRD DOG EVER FUCK LABS
Yes i do hunt for the passion of it, the stock and the kill. i recover all big game because it tastes great and is a great prize to take home with you. but most waterfowl does not taste so great so i am there for the kill and the thrill of it only. if i can get to it great. but if the water is too deep for me to walk than no i will not swim to one duck.
Dont be a pussy, if you want to hike that far and take the chance of falling in and filling your waders full of water than do it, dont judge other people. they are PROFESSIONAL HUNTERS and your not... this is why. your probably one of those people who think its "unethical" to shoot a deer or an elk with its head down. your there to kill end of story
@xbearx419 Youre there to kill period? This means you shouldn't try limit wounded game that is never recovered? Its hunters like you who give us such a bad reputation. Youre a kill dependent hunter who is only in the sport for the thrill of the kill. I am so sorry you miss out on the real joys of our sport.
Not only is it completely unethical, these people think this is extremely cool... they buy fuller chokes, and bullshit ammunition. If you cant decoy a duck, you suck, and you shouldnt be hunting. I get so pissed off when im in a blind and i can see a hunter hundreds of yards from a bird and they shoot at it like their guns a rifle. its disgusting. And what i hate more is more than one person shooting at once. 1 bird comes in, 8 people stand up to shoot, and the birds 5lbs heavier when it falls
But good video on informing hunters on how to reduce the number of injured birds. I think it is very important for hunters to be respectfull. I hunt ducks on a river with a bow and one of the biggest challenges is being sure that the birds can't fly away with arrow in it and that the bird can be retrieved in a flowing current. Not easy.
Unfortunately this is the reality of duck hunting, or any kind of hunting. Whether it is Humans vs animals or animals vs animals. Hell same even happens in the farming industry.
If you are shooting ducks out that far you will have a high percentage of birds that fly off and are not found. Of course they retrieve some of them but there are going to be many they are unable to retrieve.
@EcatMagoo man i know what your talkin about.. the high big ducks that slowly drift a way and you see them drift down a mile away..it sucks ive hunted my whole life and my dad does it alot on high pintail passing over
you fucking retard! the dog goes and gets the crippled ducks! who cares how far away theyre shooting, aslong as theyre getting them! why does it matter the distance!
Look at the way the pond is.... They can't set up any closer and be hidden from the ducks. We have a spot that is the same way and have problems getting them into good kill range. We have a good dog and rarely lose a bird! Bet you have a nice piece of private property with no competition..
Let's back up and punt. Let's face facts. Many retrieved ducks and geese never make it to the hunter's freezer. The DU mag should cover the wanton waste part of the wrong side of the sport? Waterfowl thrown off creek bridges, in ditches, etc. on the drive home. Would get lots of DU members and ethical waterfowl hunters fired up. And a mink trapper soon finds a favorite creek to set his Conibear traps for many years. Take 'em close and take 'em home.
although im all for ethics, skybusting isnt unethical... you could just as easily cripple one shooting it at 10 yards. But you DO need to dispatch of cripples ASAP No need for an animal to suffer.. I prefer to wring their neck
although im all for ethics, skybusting isnt unethical... you could just as easily cripple one shooting it at 10 yards. But you DO need to dispatch of cripples ASAP
@USAamericaUSA no, skybusting cripples so many more, they end up going down sometimes 1000s of yards away. It also ruins hunting for everyone around you. If you'd just let birds work everyone would have better hunting.
@mtinch7 I know. I didnt say that. I said they get crippled even when in close. We dont skybust. We lwt em work. We try to get them within 20 to 30 yards.
@redheadedduckhunter Of course they tried to retrieve the cripples. The point is if you skybust there are many cripples you will not be able to retrieve. Those birds suffer in the marsh until slowly dieing. My point is that people should shoot ducks at close range and limit their shots.
I can see what you are saying but dont worry about other people....if a CO see's them and wants to say somthing he will but dont get all work up over somthing like this, it happens.
@XnoubX There's nothing illegal about what they are doing so it would be inappropriate for a CO to talk to them. Its unehtical! Yes, it happens and that's the point of this video. People shoot ducks at too far a range and leave wounded birds all over the marsh. Its plenty to get worked up about.
good for you! happy to see and hear someone who thinks like you! its a catch 22 we hunt, but dont want them to suffer, nobody belives it only hunters will, when you say it.
@CNBarnes I don't protect other hunters who don't practice ethcial hunting. If we don't police our own then who will? Leaving wounded birds all over the marsh is NOT okay.
alright bud i totally understand your point. but i pretty sure that no one is perfect and i would venture to say that you yourself have wounded a few. Sometimes conditions only allow for long range shots. You also have to remember that this is on tv and that don't always show the dog returning with the duck but more than likely they were all picked up. You cant just assume this is how everyone does it is television. So don't speak for all duck hunters because not one person wants to cripple!
All the ducks that have fallen, they have showed retrieves for. Also the cameramen who film the ducks in flight are typically quite a long way from the hunters. These hunters could be shooting ducks at 35 yds but you cant tell from the angle.
Yeah, the guy is right, my family shoot at ducks that are in the middle of the decoys. ya know, ya have one of the teal flying over you early in the morning, ya shoot it and it lands behind ya in the tails.
And you don't have a dog, I totally agree with ya, but sometimes a wounded duck does get away. Or a duck that you shoot and it dives instantly and doesnt come back up, that sucks too.
you make a great point i love duck hunting too if i cripple a duck i dont shoot at another duck till i find him i dont care if i go all day and not find i go all day looking but i dont shot ducks till 40 yards or closer you have to rember theirs not that many people out there that go to see the duck work and come i dont care to shoot it is a bonus but there is alot of a-holes out there that go to kill and dont care if the duck lives or not
I appreciate your opinion. I understand that judging skybusting on t.v. is not always easy but in shows like this one its obvious. The easiest way to judge is by counting how long it takes for the duck to hit the water. Several times in this episode they make statements like "That one was waayyy out there"
Ya know, I think you should be more focused on defending hunters, not giving more ammunition to Anti's. Personally, I don't at all think those birds were out of range. How do you have any idea of scale on a television?
