Hilary Hahn from the CD Stravinsky & Brahms : Violin concertos; with the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields. This is the Brahms concerto, first movement, just before the cadenza. She studied with Jascha Brodsky. And as said earlier by fattry2000 she plays the Vuillaume...
And she studied with Brodsky at Curtis, which I believe her Vuillaume belonged to Brodsky. (Totally not correct about this, but I thought I heard this somewhere)
Well, first off its neither Szeryng probably spelled that wrong and being Menuhin, this is too exquisite to be Menuhin. It's definitely Hilary Hahn and her Vuillaume.. Which I will be seeing next weekend, she will be performing the Tchaikovsky in SLC, UT with the Glorious Utah Symphony.
I believe it is Szeryng playing the Brahms violin Concerto with his Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume. However in his book it states that he preffered his Del Gesu to record with. His teacher was Maurice Frenkel and he was taught for a little while by Carl Flesch.
