  • @ InfiniteWorld:

Do they give birth to living youngs or do they lay eggs?

You write in the text below the video:

"Onycophera shoot a sticky substance out of their antennae, to capture prey."

I don't think that`s correct. They spit this sticky substance out of special glands underneath their antennae, as far as I know.

  • At :11 you scared it and it fired slime at the leaf. lolz

  • there legs are so cute

  • it's that poisonous?

  • Thats awesome. I dont like bugs but i been watching weird bug videos on youtube for past 10 mins and theres all kinda crazy bugs in the world!

  • These creatures predate cockroaches or even insects (or anything else that has legs). It's thought that they were the first creatures that could "walk".

  • @Atomicskull It's interesting how they are still in existence but didn't evolve.

  • @kirlinks they evolved, just not in obvious or readily visible ways.

    Think metabolism, for example.

  • i own one and will do a vid on it

  • does it bite?

  • so it thought the leaf was prey!?

  • @nighthunte29 maybe? :P

Velvet worms are pretty adorable though, wish I could keep one

  • Yes it did. Read the description.

  • Oh, its so cute. I wonder what it would feel like crawling up your arm.

  • i saw it on yahoo

  • Wow look at all of the "also watching now"--20 people! your video is on one of the pages directed from the yahoo homepage!

  • THIS WAS ON YAHOO

  • what does it squirt at 0:13?

  • A liquid glue used to trap prey. Perhaps it's used defensively as well.

  • its not vegetarian? lol

  • No. It has kind of scary looking jaws. Deceptively cute.

  • very cute indeed

  • Wow, it's actually . .. cute. No wonder people want these as pets.

  • i think its a velvet worm

  • It is.

  • "Supposedly, the males mate with the females by just poking them in the side and squirting sperm into the hole" Not unlike humans, but without the alcohol, dinner and dancing prior.
