@hewenyuan1986 Its kind of like the season of major sports. You can lose during the regular season as long as you have the Xth best record. We see a lot of the same Gundams again because the fights were rigged to have only strong enemies fight the main characters.
Or for a better example, the players played for two participating championship teams in the same year. The said player will get the ring regardless who wins.

Its even mentioned that Domon and Shwarz already had enough wins to qualify for the finals before they fought each other. Getting credit for having played on the winning team has nothing to do with this.
