Kodak Zi8 controls, details review part four

The Arcsoft software installer doesn't auto-run on my PC. Anybody know how to install it? My camera shipped with firmware 1.03 but I've updated it to 1.06.

with firmware update, you need two files, one is fw, other is software loadboth to a newfile called system and update in, you are allowed by kodak a reflash, yet to seea reflash LOL there are proceedures to do reflash in but kodak voids the warranty.

@mikemelancholic Same prob with me. I updated my zi8 to 1.06. I wanted to install arcsoft but it just gives me an error everytime i try to run the disc drive.

soundsl ike you went into thefirmwaresdowngrading??? ifso reloading the img back in will correct, but still will get currupted later on, not a good thing lol.

The "562" on the info screen is the version number of the ArcSoft editing software suppied with the Zi8.

sounds interesting . as I seen anothercam with the firmware updated the number changed I was very curious that is all.

Nice Cam but i miss presets and EV. The Menu could be a bit better, miss some Icons on the screen. And some small things more, but all in all nice Cam. May whait and see what next Firmware brings

Nice video. Do know if you can turn off the video on and off sounds?

Yes you can go into the tools, under Sound (speaker icon) and choose mute. All sounds are muted, no visual lights can be muted i mentioned that the record sound gets muted, and unsure and would think the Still be perminent. the sound is silienced on all. no desired level, hope that answers your Inquerry

Can you use a external mic on the Zi8

Yes, you can the controls of the buttons only show the set up of functions, you Plug in the ext mic, and no external icon is shown the gain can be used as internal, and external. there is a port locted to the upper left side. I hope that answers your inquerry.
