For the first time in many, many years, Syracuse will not be going to the NCAA Tournament for lacrosse. They will be back, though. Every great program has a down season, and 2007 just happened to be one for Syracuse. Don't forget that, in 2004, UVA didn't make the tournament.

Did you know that, for many years before Desko became head coach, although Roy Simmons, Jr. was the head coach, John Desko actually did most of the coaching? Simmons was like the grandfather who oversaw the whole program.

Congratulations to top assistant Marc Van Arsdale, who is now the Associate Head Coach to Head coaching Dom Starsia. My prediction is this- Marc will be offered jobs at several schools, but he will turn them all down and stay at UVA. Then, when Dom calls it quits, he will become the head coach. Marc is at least 10 years younger than Dom. What do you all think?

It is very possible UVA will repeat in 2007. If they do, I say it will be Dom's best coaching job yet. UVA has a lot of talent, but they are nowhere near as talented as they were when they won in 1999, 2003, and 2007. Do you agree?

I think you are right. And just wait until they are juniors and seniors! And they will be playing with the class of 2011, who are entering this fall. 8 of the 10 players are on the Inside Lacrosse Top 50 High School Seniors. 4 of those guys are on the Top 5 of that list! Wow!!!!

Well, we are at the end of the regular season now. UVA has looks sluggish at times, but they are still a Top 5 team. The ACC Tournament is this weekend. UVA plays Maryland, and if they beat the Terps, they will probably face Duke, who plays North Carolina.

Dom Starsia is the best recruiter in the history of the game! He has recruited some great players throughout the years. However, he has never had a class like the one he has coming in this year! Dom's Class of 2011 has 10 members, including 8 who are in the Top 50 for high school seniors this year. And 4 of those guys are ranked in the Top 5 for seniors! That includes 2 twin brothers from Huntington, New York and the best goalie coming out of Long Island in years! This is scary!
