other great places to go to when in baguio---bencab museum on asin road, tam-awan artist village...and a vegetarian meal at kidlat tahimik's oh, my gulay restorant.....(check out the review on clickthe city.com/travel),and... cafe by the ruins.....
Thanks for sharing this video. My family just moved to Baguio last week. My son got a scholarship from the prestigious Philippine Science High School CAR. It was a big decision but for his bright future we are here to support him. Mabuhay Baguio!
Wow, I miss Baguio! I live in Manila, and I ALWAYS go to Baguio at least 2 times a year. I'm just lucky my great grandparent's house is up in the mountains, I'm talking about an hour away from the city. I might get to go back there in June.
Wow! I love ya. The first video of you that I saw was the one when you had the gatorade and pocari sweat. It's cool that you're in my country! God Bless you!
I remember 2 years ago, Baguio was flooded because there was too much rain and those boats in Burnham Park floated towards the houses. Good thing it returned back when the floods subsided.
Btw, it's the flower festival in Baguio this February. You should come and see it. :D
@Reikonan Wow! I'm thankful it's back to normal as well. Baguio was a great place to visit and I hope to get back there soon. I only wish I could make it back for the flower festival! Thanks for watching!
@BusanKevin Yeah, his music is awesome. I've used it a few times and thought this would be a great fit (I also used another tune for Part 2). Thanks for watching mate!
@TravInThailand Looks like I'm a little behind on getting back to you, but both Lourdes Grotto and the Diplomat Hotel were originally built by the Dominican Order of the Catholic Church. For more information on them, check out the blog post that goes with this video (see description box).
@MANNY100123 Thanks for that vote of confidence. The Philippines is an amazing place! I'm glad you enjoyed this video and it inspired you to go there!
I recognise the music on your video the talented Josh Woodward. I always find your videos fascinating you take us to some fantastic place. Cheers Tam : )
@cheekychickenhead That it is! I think this piece fit so well with the subject matter. Glad you enjoyed this Day Away (even it is only Part 1). Thanks for watching!
I think you should put your websites at the bottom of the information bit. That way, if I see some informative text, I'm more inclined to read more, rather than just seeing blue links.
I've seen many replicas of the Lourdes grotto, but none look close to the real one in Lourdes, France. The one in Belleville, IL comes the closest so far.
@phampants Yes, many have the same name, simply because of a vision of Mary. It would be nice to have different names for each location. The American history in the Philippines is quite interesting. Worth a read in and of itself.
Love the choice of music, the lead-in reminds me of The Cures, Boys don't Cry. Love that song...Always surprises me how big buildings like that can be left abandoned. I'd love to be able to just take one over : D
Would be nice if they fixed up that hotel again, who wouldn't like to wake up to that wonderful view? Was that the Philippines version of a snow cone? Looked like the man making added some fruit to it too.
@SpZwrden Yes. This is the an ongoing project. I'm trying to create a playlist, but it appears it will be slow to propagate. This is actually the third "A Day Away".
Baguio is soo dirty right now! I remember when I was young and it's so clean...

Great Job!!! I'm from Baguio and I never imagined how you can look at it so it becomes nice.
The way you edited this video seems to have hyped Baguio.
