  • Why the hell wouldn't you turn your lights on?

  • clueless folks with a lic to kill, seems cereals are once again handing out free lic's if you collect 3 box tops with the upc code intact. Some folks are too stupid to understand lits and reduced speed is needed if you cant see whats ahead of u.

  • THEY NEED TO HAVE THEIR GOD DAMN LIGHTS ON. thtas why they are crashing into each other, also goes for SLOWING THE FUCK DOWN

  • I remember driving to work that morning. Best morning drive ever!

  • Why should they turn on thier lights when they can see just fine.

  • I drive faster in the passing lane during heavy rains because I know other drivers will slow down and drive in the right lane

  • even though you have running day time head light, you should turn your whole light on so people can see the red tail light in front of them, In Alaska, they are serios about having working tailights.

  • 1:49 it's a ghost on a bike riding on the freeway!!!!

  • there's always some asshole that will not be safe and jeopardize everyone's elses safety.

  • This reporter makes me Zzzzzzz Amateurish :P He always states the obvious. yet I have gotten used to him on KRON. He talks about how it's OK to cross a single solid (which I don't think is true) but a double solid white is a big no no. Well duh. It's a lane that's about to divide and people are flying up behind you to merge away. If you pull in front of them it's no longer them in the rear at fault. it's you and I believe it's considered reckless driving

  • Too many stupid people!

  • those damn Asians are steaming rice

  • when there's fog on german freeways, you may drive as fast that you can stop within your visual range, or if you see other tail lights about 100 meters in front of you, max. 50 km/h

  • SAE J1319 - mandate this under FMVSS108.

    The rear fog lamp!

  • people need to learn how to drive i go down highway 35 every day to go to school and never had a problem

  • This is why I do not like to ride my bike in the fog. The posted speed limit is applicable only in optimum conditions, clear weather and dry pavement. Under adverse conditions, such as rain or fog, the speed limit is lower.

  • @BayAreaBiker2001 what I would do If I had to bike in the fog, I would stay on the side walk to reduce the risk of being hit by cars because they can't see me, and I don't have lights on my bike.

  • Just turn on Ur HEADLIGHTS WTF IS THAT HARD TO DO!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Thats just genius right there! Go 100 in a Porsche when you can't see where you're going.

  • Ya, then BOOM!

  • I normally don't mind speeding but to my annoyance I find that during heavy rain and fog I'm usually the slowest car on the road even though this is never the case under normal conditions.

  • I live almost within walking distance of this crash site, and have cautiously pushed through fog thicker than this, if you can imagine that. Picture the same, exact road, on a moonless Friday or Saturday night, around 2:00AM when all the bars close and kick the drunks out onto the roadways...

  • Right there you get a double whammy, 'cause North Americans simply can not drink responsibly or with any maturity. If a French of German lets you buy him a few rounds at the bar and then drives home, I'll bet you dollars to donuts he reaches his destination without killing anybody or going to jail. Us Yankees, however? The minute you let us out of your site, we'll be getting a cash advance on our credit card...

  • ...and by the time we have a seizure and drive our Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme right through the massage parlor's front porch, we will have already spent half the money on a big bag of coke.

  • I use to live at Hickey and Highway 35, I moved because the fog was simply horrible. A few nights I missed my exit because I could not see my exit. And when I arrived at this accident I could not see the emergency vehicles until I was right on top of them and they had their emergency lights flashing.

  • Wow! That brings me to the other half of the double whammy I'd mentioned: The inability of Californians to ever get it through our spacey skulls that in inclement weather, YOU HAVE TO MODIFY YOUR DRIVING IN SOME WAY!

  • Agreed!

  • Roger that. There have been times when I've driven South on Highway One, up that hill and then down the long, sweeping curve into Pacifica, going 30mph with my hazard lights on. Sure, I may have looked like a nervous Nelly and lost much ground in my efforts to impress the attractive women who often rode shotgun...

  • ...ESPECIALLY with other traffic blindly whizzing by at more than twice my speed. I figured, however, that I'd lose even more points with the ladies if they were maimed or disfigured on my watch.

  • I would rather lose ground with the attractive woman than to lose my life because of some moron who drives like an idiot in zero visibility!

  • Lest I misrepresent myself as some Latter-Day Ralph Nader who's never behaved badly, I must, in the interest of complete honesty, point out that I found this video because some video-aggregating site had linked it to one of mine, entitled, "Daly City Driving Disasters."

  • I can say nothing in my defense, but I'm sure thankful that --through sheer, dumb luck, and not any virtue or skill on my part-- no human or animal had to pay with their blood for this self-absorbed idiot to have a sufficiently humbling learning experience.

  • CORRECTION: The video in question is entitled, "MORE Daly City Driving Disasters." If you've only looked at my earlier effort, the one simply titled, "Daly City Driving Disasters," the statements I've made about myself won't have made any sense at all. Oops.

  • US really needs to mandate as an FMVSS108 requirement, 'SAE J1319' REAR FOG LAMP/S for application to all new market passenger vehicles and trucks.

Standard taillights under these conditions are near worthless, the rear fog lamp is the primary defence against low visibility crashes.

  • good coverage! one would think that drivers would begin learning at a certain point, eh? But the opposite seems to happen...more piles every year. hopefully your work will trickle down to those that need the lesson! cheers TVman...
